Nothing Spectacular
I've visited Woodbury several times to use the driving range but only a few times to actually play golf. This past weekend (7/4) we had an impromptu tourney with 10 of us playing 9-holes. The greens were in great shape but the fairways were suspect at best. The tee boxes weren't in bad shape, however, many of the positions had you hitting with the ball above or below your feet, some severely. I believe we were given a deal on the 9-holes we played which was ok, but I would NOT PAY $52 to play 18 as TeeOff has had listed for them.
Course has potential
We played super early Sunday morning. We were first ones in the parking lot and the lady working clubhouse was super friendly? She told us about course routing and the clubhouse looked recently renovated. That’s the good news.... the not so good news was the course itself. When we played the greens were super furry, I do not think they had been mowed in a week or two. They actually rolled ok and the grass appeared heathy but they were by far the longest greens I have ever played on. The course itself hadn’t been mowed either ... to be fair, they recently received a ton of rain in the past couple of weeks so maybe they just were not able to get out and mow, We literally had to search for balls in the fairway the grass was that long.
We had drove about an hour to get there.... was hoping for a better experience but it just wasn’t in the cards that day,
We joked about maybe this is how they played a couple hundred years ago when goats tended to course conditions.
Probably will not come back there are other options much closer to me.
Shouldn't have changed name
Plymouth rock was a staple and now its woodbury. I moved away 14 yrs ago and always loved plymouth rock golf course. Now its woodbury and it isn't the same. No care for the course or tradition but still a playable venue
For the amount of rain there has been, this course was in very good condition. The greens were very nice. The tee boxes needed some moving, the grass was tall. And there needs to be better signage to follow. I absolutely love their old time score cards. I will definitely play this course again whenever I am in the area.
Nice layout, terrible green conditions.
Previous rain and aeration made for average greens, Uncut greens and mold, dirt spots made for poor greens. Course is a reasonable, shorter layout that has some difficult holes.
Finding fairways, then hitting greens is relatively enjoyable. However, not being able to putt, due to crap conditions made round not that much fun...
Great Course
Excellent course and staff! Many new improvements to Plymouth Rock Golf Course! We will be back!
Great Course for the Money
We have been golfing here throughout the 2015 season. We coming back because they have an enjoyable track at an awesome rate. They've also made a ton of renovations in the last couple years. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing enjoyable round of golf that won't break the bank.
Great Course close to town!
Staff is great-sincere and cares about their customers. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome . Course was fun and challenging considering the conditions. Will most definitely play again!
Have fun at Plymouth Rock
Nice layout, relaxing atmosphere. Good day for the average golfers who just want to play a good, intermediate course. Potential to turn this into an above average course with a few more traps and fancier fairways. The Greens were excellent condition. New Clubhouse, new carts, new bridges and well organized office.
