Well groomed for October
Lots of trees and very few leaves on fairways and greens. Course was in very good shape for late October.
Great day -- but one club short
Perfect weather (73 degrees) with sunshine and barely a breeze. Course was in great shape for the fall season and I made two new friends. Only problem was I left my 8-iron on the 7th green. Someone apparently picked it up but did not turn it in to the clubhouse. Shot a 37 on the back nine, so it was still a great day!
Fun course
Typically a great course if not for all the standing water ... Still had a good time ... Not much you can do when the water table is seeping out of the earth....3-5 stars
Great Day of Golf
The staff is extremely friendly and easy to work with. The course is fun to play. The speed boats were loud on the lake, but that was the only bad thing about the course.
play soon before the leaves fall!
great course, lots of trees, but play before the leaves fall cus its hard to find your ball.
Tight course,but great layout.
Love the holes around the lake. Course is tight on some holes which makes your tee shot being in play a must. Will play this course while in town again.
Shoreline
Short par 3's.
Flat course. no elevation changes.
Pretty good driving range.
Very nice course
I enjoyed playing here. Course was in very good shape and has a mix of easy and challenging holes. A couple of groups let us play thru which helped with the speed of play. Course favors accuracy over long hitters.
Good value and challenging
Course was in excellent condition. Some greens are in very challenging spots. Most of the fairways are pretty tight for beginning players. If you are a beginner, I would try a cheaper/easier course before this one. It is a nice course and has some good views. Could be problematic getting into and out of the course if things are going on at td ameritrade or centurylink.
Great course near downtown
Course was in great shape! Play was pretty much on pace , very little waiting with the number of people out on Sunday. I strongly recommend the course, great value for the money
Staff very accommodating
We entered a tee time on golfnow.com, which seemed to be very convenient at the time. The calendar on Golfnow.com indicated the date of event. When we got to the course, the staff indicated that the tee time was set for the next day. The Shoreline staff was very accommodating, and squeezed our party in, and indicated that this error happens frequently.
The amount of rain that recently had been dropped on the area, may have contributed to the less than normal quality greens conditions. We have always enjoyed playing at Shoreline and after a slight hiccup in the booking of the tee time, it was a nice outing this time.
Fun Course
The practice green and driving range were great. The staff member there was just ok, didn't really explain a whole lot, but what can you do I'm sure it was just a summer job for him, didn't let that get in my way of having a great time on the course.
First hole is a dog leg left and it starts you off with a good taste of what the course is pretty much about. If you like to bend the ball both ways, a lot of holes will keep you honest changing from draw to fade. Some holes I should have been hitting iron with but most of the the time I could grab my driver w/o thinking about it.
Par 5's are great fun there, the par 3's had fun greens. Some straight forward par 4's and some par 4's that required some thought.
The green speed's were slow for the most part but keep an eye on downhillers bc they will take off, especially if the green's getting a lot of sun. I liked the green speed but I was expecting them to be quicker but no big deal I rolled them ok.
Fun course, great value.
Tedious pace of play renders course unplayable
3rd time playing here. First 2 rounds were in the 4hr. 45 minute range which is close to ridiculous. Third round over 5 hours. Will not go back. Too many other good choices in Omaha market to endure 5 hour rounds which apparently course management feels is no cause for alarm since it's been this way year after year for the last 3 years at least. One foursome was 4 ladies giggling and passing around a novelty hockey stick putter they shared. Took 10 minutes to putt out greens. Marshall said nothing to them. Marshall then sat on a 4 group par-5 with the next tee backed up 3 groups. Again did nothing as far as I can tell. Painful to play at this pace!
Really fun course to play.
This course was in pretty good shape except for a couple spots that were under repair. This is a very fun course to play especially for some of the deals you can find.
This course is scoreable.
nice flat course. fairly open most holes. greens are big for easy approach shots.
A little disappointed
I was searching golfnow.com for a course to play in Omaha on a day off. I went to Shoreline's website and by the looks of their website, it looks like an amazing course. When we got there we were a little disappointed. It looks as if Shoreline has taken liberty of using a good photographer to make their course look extremely nice. The back 9 was a little more picturesque than the front 9 but the course needs a lot of work. Around the greens you had very tight lies of hard ground and patchy grass. I had a terrible time chipping around the greens and this is one of the strong points of my game.
Bang for your buck
The course only gets a three star rating due to its difficulty. It is in great condition this year and is one of the better deals in the Omaha area if you use GolfNow. I've played it a few times and this was the best shape it was in, granted we got rain all week so it was very green and the greens were soft. My main issue is that it will never be a terribly difficult course. I like to go here the first few times I play every year because you can be as aggressive or conservative as you want off the tee and shoot a decent score. A great confidence booster. I would and have previously recommended the course to others, especially other students strapped for cash.
Steve
Other than they ran me off the course so they could get the cart taken care of it was great. I have NEVER had anyone tell me I had to turn in a cart so it could be cleaned. Especially when there was at least a 30 minutes of daylight left. So I guess is wasn't unlimited golf after all.
