Good layout, friendly & accommodating staff, pace of play was good.. lower the price just alittle & I would come back more often.

Course was in above ave. conditions for golf in early March. Always a challenge
Early Spring Round
Iron Horse is a true gem of a public course here in the greater KC area we love the late out and undulating greens. A true test of any golf skill level. We will definitely be back for more in the near future!!!

Really enjoyed my round today at Ironhorse! The only reason I didn’t need rate course conditions a 5 star was the tee boxes need some repair but other than that the course was awesome. Love the layout and challenge this course presents. Staff was very friendly and the beverage cart girl was super friendly as well. This course is a must play for all Kansas City area golfers.

Challenging, and well kept. Great staff, great greens. Pricing varies by demand. Best public track in the area.
Great course with plenty of challenge for intermediate golfer
Playing the combo tees (blue/white) gave a good variety of length and challenge off the tee. Greens were a little inconsistent in speed and not as smooth as I would hope. Mostly due to inconsiderate golfers who fail to repair their ball mark. I don't drive the ball consistently straight so played from the rough at times. The grass in the rough was challenging and very thick on most holes. Overall a picturesque layout with large multi-tier/multi-breaking putts which I love. A little unusual that the completion of front nine is not at the clubhouse, so must divert for food/beverage, etc. Be prepared for that.
Good course, pricing a bit steep
Really enjoy playing Ironhorse, one of my favorite KC courses. Good practice facilities and clean driving range. 15 balls are given as warm up on the range if you pay the more expensive end of the “dynamic pricing” (as they say) for a weekend tee time (for $84 they should really give out more in my opinion).. I paid $84 for a Sunday morning tee time, which is the most I’ve paid for a round in the metro in a long time. On the course, conditions were mostly good. Layout is not overly long even from the tips for long ball players. A couple long par 5s provide a great test on the approaches. There are still quite a few tee boxes that need significant work and areas of fresh sodding around greens that are being watered during the round. I can’t fault them here, most courses in the metro are working hard to keep their grass pristine in this summer heat. Pace of play was a problem today, but generally things move pretty well, Marshall helped move groups in front of us. Staff are friendly as always. Overall, enjoy playing here but I still have a problem with their steep weekend prices. Played similar local courses on a weekend with truer/faster greens with less ball marks (come on guys, repair your divots) and similar quality layouts. Will definitely play again, but only at discounted tee times.
Out of Towner
The course was in great shape and I did like the layout but the pace of play was very very slow. I played 36 holes in one day and I enjoyed myself both 18 hole rounds BUT like I said the pace of play very very slow. The price was fair booked on golfnow.
Nice course
Staff was great! Service was great! Pace of play was great! Course conditions was fair, it is early in the season and understandable but not for the fee that was charged.
It's early
Looking forward to IronHorse this Spring. Hopefully the team will seed and fertilize where needed, manage the foot traffic from cart path to greens, and generally get the place cleaned up. With all that said, when this place is in normal Spring and Summer condition I'll bet it's awesome.
I'll be back and looking forward to see how the team does in getting it ready
