Best course in town right now!
The course is in amazing shape right now, and if you get out early you can have the course to yourself! Go enjoy
Love the layout
This course was in great condition considering the lack of rain and heat we have had this summer. Ironhorse has a great layout, with a mix of challenging holes and scoring opportunities. Greed is good, but I also found trouble.
Greens were in great shape and very fast.
Course was in very good shape, with greens very challenging and fast. This is always a difficult course to score well on without incurring penalty strokes. Two Marshals and one cart girl on a hot day were welcome and kept the pace of play on schedule. Good course with a great practice facility.
Ironhorse course review
This was the first time I had played the course and I was extremely satisfied. Ironhorse is a fantastic track. I got my
moneys worth. I will be back.
Thanks
Beautifully well-kept, fun and challenging layout
Not too difficult of a course from the white tees (approx 5,800 yds) . Challenging greens, shorter holes, and trees that occasionally come into play on approach shots makes players think more strategically before hitting each shot. Fairway and greenside bunkers come into play (pristine sand) and greens are on the smaller side with the right amount of undulation - roll beautifully too. Very friendly staff, well-timed beverage cart service, great pace of play, battery-operated carts, and a $38 GolfNow deal made for a wonderful round of golf on 7/6/13 (fees are normally $70+ on weekends!) Course has one of the best practice facilities in the area. The biggest drawback we found? Compared to other courses in the area, Ironhorse is very limited on their beer selection...just the Buds, Coors, and Blvd Wheat.
An awesome course.
A challenging course that is in great shape. The greens are the best I've seen this year.
Marshals need customer service training
I felt the clubhouse and course were great, however the marshals were overtly rude, unprofessional and harassing. If you want to play a tough course, in good shape, play Iron Horse, but know the marshals are jerks.
Great course!!
This is a wonderful course that offers beauty and a challenge. The greens were quite fast. I really liked the layout although getting from hole to hole was a little confusing. But I still think it's a great course and should be on every Kansas City residents list of courses to play.
This deal was amazing!
We had a 5:24 tee time for $26 (after fees/taxes). There was a corporate event was delayed, and itpushed us back to 6:15, but the course manager comped us an evening round for our inconvenience. That is above and beyond, and I felt like a valued customer. The course was in great shape as always.
good
5 hr round brutal, need more marshalling. course great shape, staff fine, 4 out of 5 stars still
Fun but challenging.
Nice course and pace of play is better than most public courses but it ain't easy...
Deal from GolfNow was Unreal!
Greens were tough. Speed varied from hole to hole, which made putting incredibly difficult. Tee box and greens were in great shape. In a few weeks the trees are going to start blooming and the scenery will be amazing. The creeks are flowing and look awesome! I'd play again any time, any weather for the deal I got.
You will enjoy this course
Play the correct tee boxes, and you will enjoy this course. It was wet and windy, but it still was a fair test of golf. Zoysia fairways make it really nice, as the ball sits up nicely for your approach shots. Houses throughout the course, but none so close that they are obtrusive.
We were in an overbooked condition the day I played, as they had a tournament going on, but Devin offered us a free drink for the delay.
I'll be back.
challenging course but fun
I really enjoyed this course. I played in early spring, so it was still a bit rough, but in a few weeks it will be very nice. The layout is great for a mid handicap golfer. Its not long but definitely need to manage your shots. I look forward to playing it again.
Nice course layout.
I have played this course about a dozen times. The layout is challenging enough to keep me entertained.
By the way, the club sandwich with honey mustard is delicious.
Classy and Challenging experience.
I play Iron Horse quite often. The course is very challenging and well taken care of. The younger pro shop staff can be quite arrogant at times but past that your in for a great round of golf. Golf Now prices are far better than the courses walk up fee. I would put Iron horse, Deer Creek, and and Falcon Ridge on the same pedestal if your new to the area and looking to play courses with great quality.
Golf course has great design and layout.
You saved the best for last! Our last golf outing of the year featured a golf course with great natural terrain! Rolling hills and elavation changes. Greens with lots of break, not many easy putts at this layout! Even in Dec. with dormant fairways the scenery was breathtaking on many holes. Staff extemely accomodating. Price & value were more than fair. Can't wait to come back next year!
Best track in Johnson County
Awesome coarse design . Very challenging design but not "unfair".
A grand experience.
Even though the fairways are eagerly awaiting the spring and the lush green color which will ensue as a result we found the course to be in GRAND condition, especially the greens. Thanks to GolfNow we received a great value round on a course which is truly like none other in the area. Also, as all 65+ players, we especially were happy to have a clear senior teeing area.
golf course in very good shape-
The greens are fabulous - fast and soft- The design of the back nine is not the best in Kansas City - hole 15 is not expected on this kind of golf course but a very nice golf course to play.
