The course was wet that day.
Overall the course was worth playing. I would suggest getting Marshall's on the course to help speed up play. There was a threesome out there that were not the best golfers holding up everyone.
Great Challenging Course
Other than the maintenance projects going on, the course was in great shape and played at a good pace. The layout was challenging but still open enough that it was possible to recover from rough shots. I will definitely be going back.
Flooded again
Wasn't made aware of course flooding inside of a week. Bunkers completely washed out and would not have played had we known.
Avoid this course until flood damage has been corrected.
Pace was painfully slow at 5.5 hours. The course was heavily damaged due to the recent flooding of Indian Creek. The bridge on hole 10 was out and was converted from a par 4 to a par 3. It is a challenging layout and worth revisiting in the future once the course has been restored.
This course needs work after recent rains
This course is in need of a lot of work from the rains we got on Thursday/Friday. The course GM told me the course would be ready for play on all 18 by Sunday. When we arrived at the course they were only allowing play on the front 9 (play it twice). They did offer us a discount because of this, but even the front was not in all that great of shape. Very frustrating to be told one thing when by what I saw on Sunday there was no way the course would have been ready by the time the GM told me it woulf be.
The course layout is quite challenging, but fair.
A fantastic layout, you must play a smart game to be rewarded. The narrow fairways and many bunkers makes for a real challenging round. The creek that winds throughout the course is to be respected, it seems to be everywhere. I will definitely play this course again.
Excellent Course and my new favorite in the area.
This was the best experience I have had on a late winter round. Considering the rough winter the course was in great shape. The staff is friendly and it was overall a great time. I look forward to some spring and summer golf here.
great value
This is one of the more scenic public courses in the Kansas City area. Love the creek that runs through the course and all of the water features. Well maintained and very reasonable green fees. One of the best public courses around.
My first and only time at this course was poor at best.
My first time experience at this course was poor at best for the following reasons: 1) course condition was poor especially the greens where you would most like to have your ball roll smooth and true instead they were extremely bumpy 2) the tee boxes needed to be mowed because I was constantly having to tee my ball up higher in order to keep from having grass get between my ball and the club face 3) Pace of play would have been better if they had a Marshall, but they did not and a threesome of senior women who were taking multiple strokes on every hole slowed down the pace of play to a snail pace and they would not let anyone play through. Another thing was that on this course there are a number of blind spots off the tee box and twice I had someone pickup my ball and then ask me" is this your my ball" after they had picked it up. This kind of situation would not happen if you had one or more Marshall's on the course. Overall I did not appreciate my first time experience at this course and I will not be returning again.
Excellent Course
This was my first time playing Deer Creek. We had an amazing play. The fairways were perfect. The greens were well maintained. The rough was a little tall but it was taken care of. Wide open fairways made our first time easy to keep pace. The cart paths were not good in a few places but overall smooth. The biggest concern was with directions to the next tee box. The cart paths crossed over each other in places and made for a confusing drive. Overall loved the course and will play again.
Nice course, good pace of play
Fairways and greens were in good shape. Some sand traps needed some work. Was there on a Tuesday so was not real busy, thus was able to go as a single and play a quick round.
Fairways in good condition, greens in better shape. Tee boxes need work
Tee boxes need mowed and too many weeds. Fairways and Greens are in good shape. Golfed on their Taco Tuesday, Internet and flyers advertise $2.00 Tacos and $2.00 Mexican beer, Corona extra,. The Coronas are $3.00 not 2.00. Looks like false advertising from Deer Creek. Everyone at Deer Creek is friendly even at 7 a.m
The best staff in the Metropolitan area and the course is in fabulous condition
GReat experience all the way around, Love the Staff
Very nice course. Good value for the money.
Great course! Staff was friendly and willing to help. Only gripe I had was the players who came before and didn't groom bunkers after they had played from them (which wouldn't have been a problem if I had stayed out of the bunkers).
difficult but fun.
Deer Creek is not for the timid. Tight in spots but plays long when the fairways are wet. Some very good scoring oppotunities if you are willing to take a chance. Many bunkers, so a good sandwedge is a must. Greens are quick, large and have many undulations. Your putter can make or break your round.
Challenging course. Great shot values.
Course was wet and a little rough as it is a late spring. Greens have been aerated and course provided no notice of this.
Recent aeration
The greens had recently been aerated so they were quite bumpy. Otherwise, the course was in good shape for this time of year.
It's a nice course but the greens were still erated. Other than that is was nice.

it was in good shape for this time of year
it was in good shape for this time of year and they let us drive on the fairways some with the carts.
Great layout. Greens aerated so not in good shape at this time.
great layout and great value. Pace of play was very nice for a public course. Greens will get better as their aeration was done recently and not done very well.
It received three stars because it took 6 hours to play. I don't believe anyone on the course had heard of tee it forward. Every course erates their greens...wow I had no idea
So if they didn't aerate their greens the course was nice; and that warranted a 3 why? Every course does this by the way.
