Clueless
the course Marshall had no idea what to do and shouldn't be managing tee times! He checked my group in four time and had no idea what to do. He had no organization of the the groups or the order in which they should be teeing off. The pro staff in the shop weren't any help when I called in to inform them of this problem. The course condition was great, granted its early in the season but it doesn't look like they did any prep on the course what so ever. The tee boxes were beat and battered and the fairways were riddled with attended to divots from previous day. The food in the club house was terrible. I ordered a hot dog from the grill which was taken off the rollers, that weren't on! They gave me a half frozen hot dog. I asked for them to re grill it and they cooked for maybe a minute which didn't do anything.
If you're looking for a good deal I wouldn't go here. Drive the extra few miles down and go to St. Andrews. Better course, better staff, better play.
good couse for average but straight hitters
A place I would like to play again. NO PLACE TO WARM UP
Lots to look at
I thought the layout of the course was very good the turns it takes to get to the next hole and homes on the course kept me busy. Does need a few signs telling you where the next tee box is located but it was my first time and was able to figure it out. Great name "creek" because it will be in play on 90% of the course. Really do not need to hit driver on the front and only a few holes on the back so play smart and put it away or bring 2 dozen golf balls.
double booked
Prepaid this through golfnow and when I showed up the tee times were overbooked and not teeing off the back. After mentioning overbooking to the GM of the course, the cash register suddenly stopped and hand receipts were given. This looks like covering for overbooking. Nice course but if it is managed like this it will get sold again to another company. Too many other nice courses in the area to play that don't double book tee times. I would not return to this course or recommend it to any other golfer, I will say stay away.
Solid Course
This is a great course to play thays challenging and still fun to play.
Golf in November
I was worried upon booking such a great rate online that the course would be in poor condition. Quite the contrary. Balls could be found easily despite most of the leaves having fallen. The greens and fairways were all well manicured. You really can't beat riding 18 holes for $25. Can't wait to do it again.
Great Golf Course
Very friendly staff with a beautiful golf course located between mature trees and beautiful homes.
Great course
Course was in great shape, except for the aerated greens. Plenty of trees and hazards making you think about your shot.
nice place to play
Beautiful setting for a cool crisp October morning. Although there had need plenty of rain for days, the course was in great shape even playing at 90 degrees. Grounds are very well groomed and the string with creek's and ponds gorgeous. Greens were soft but recently aerated and a bit bumpy. Really enjoyed this three hour round by myself.
Deer Creek
The course was very nice; however, I had a bad experience with the course being aerated and I could only play the front nine twice. There was no warning on Golfnow.com about the aeration issue. The front nine also had aeration holes and putting was difficult. Other than this issue, the course is very nice and I will play it again.
Beautiful Course for Weekend Trip
My buddy and I played this golf course as our wives shopped in KC. We found it online the night before and booked it through GolfNow. It was a great course with lots of challenges - sand and water and some skinny fairways. The course was in great condition. The first 9 holes were backed up in play because we were following a scramble tournament, so it took a little longer than expected. But hey, we got out of shopping, so it was all good. :)
paid for 18 got 8
Course was in good shape. Lots of goose dung on a few greens.
We knew were were not going to get 18 in but buy the time we got to 8 it was too dark. I expected the club house to be open to go in and at least ask for a 9 hole credit. No one was around.
Overall I'll play again but lots of other places at much better rates.
Long round!
They must have overbooked their tee times. I had an early afternoon tee time and didn't tee off until at least 20 minutes after my scheduled time. They didn't have enough carts and had to wait for people to finish before people waiting to tee off could start. The round took 5 hours once we finally got off the tee. It was a long afternoon!
Deer Creek golf course, in Overland Park, Ks
It was 94 degrees outside, and there was just two holes where the water was available for drinking. At that, one was empty during the hottest part of the day. I talked to other golfers who even called the clubhouse about the water. Also, the bridge on hole # 10 has been out since early spring, and is yet to be fixed. This is a wonderful par 4, which has been playing as a par 3. ( they just put stakes at the 150 yard mark in the middle of the fairway) I was really let-down that the hole wasn't fixed yet.
Tight course
Tight course as expected. Greens and some tee boxes not in very good shape. Hadn't played course in over 10 years and it has gone a little downhill in that time.
Slow play
Slowest round I've played in quite a long time. No Marshall to speed things up. These things happen, but I've never played a fast round at Deer Creek. That's my only complaint.
The course was not bad for winter.
The course and golf now double booked tee times. Very slow play, we barely finished with enough sunlight. We had a tee time for 12:20.
Great experience
Found a deal online and tried the course. It was a pleasant experince. Nice staff, players were friendly, course in good condition inspite of the rain, and nice club house.
Needs better direction on the course for next hole location.
Great Condition
I haven't played this course in years. The layout is excellent and the course condition very good. The greens were smooth and fast, fairways well maintained and the rough not too tall. The bunkers are well positions in the fairways and around the greens with plenty of soft sand. There are lots of fairway yardage markers and the course supplies a yardage book which is very well done with all bunkers listed. Red, white and blue flags mark the pin position.
