Very good course. I little tight but ok.
Course is in good shape. Disappointed about number 10 hole bridge should have been fixed a long time ago. I will come back in the future.
Fun Challenge
The only real beef I have is the bridge on the 10th hole has still not been repaired after several months.
Glad I got a discount
Good thing I got a discount. The course is not worth the ragular price. Never has been.
Missing the bridge on 10 really makes an over valued course even less.
Great shape
Course was in great shape. Rough was very nice even after a lot of rain hats off to grounds crew.staff were not as friendly as expected and my game suffered because of convoy of golf carts that had a wedding party our taking photos. BUT OVERALL A NICE GOLF DAY!
Way over booked
Had a 12:30 tee time on Saturday. When I got
to the course they said they had no carts as they were all out on the course. When our tee time came up they still didn't any carts available and there were
7 groups in line ahead of us. Got a refund and
called Hertiage golf course and got a tee time right
away. Deer creek needs to better manage their
tee times as there would of been no way we could of completed a round. very disappointing.
Slowwwww
Played deer creek a couple times and love the layout and course itself. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that my first two rounds were busy weekends and can expect to be slower pace of play. However, this time I was 6 hours + into my round on hole 17 it dawned on me they never have Marshalls/rangers out enforcing pace of play. I'm surprised they ask for $68 on a weekend and not enforce such a basic golf policy. On the other hand, the restaurant had just smoked some pulled pork and that sandwich was legit. Our foursome will be going elsewhere to save our time but may stop in for some food next bbq day
Nice course
The course is very nice for the beginning of April. Pace of play was very slow though. Front 9 took 3 hrs and back 9 took 2 1/2 hrs. Part of the issue was it was a nice early April day and every hacker was there. Also it was cart path only. It is still a great course and I will definitely be back.
Deer Creek
Course was in good shape for March. Had a fun time playing. Course had several challenging holes with great views of nature and neighborhood houses. Highly recommend this course.
Nice Course
The greens were fantastic! Great speed, beautiful role, and the fairways were pretty good considering its right after the winter. The only down side was the pace of play was awful, we did not tee off until almost a half hour after our tee time. Then the time to play still took another 4.5 hours. But the course was fun and challenging, the bunkers were in great condition along with the greens. I would play again, but never if I was in a time crunch.
A fun course, but some customer service would be nice
Showed up for my 9:44 tee time in time. Was told every thing was good to go. BUT ....... every thing was not good to go. I was told that it would take 10 more minutes to get me out. A half hour later a group of 7 (3 some & 4 some) tee off. They did not want to include some outside the group. I hope the course charged them for the 4th spot, but I doubt it.
They were just winging it. Finally they sent me of the back with the first 2 some of the day making the turn. I waited another 15 to 20 minutes. I then filled out a 3 4-some when a the fourth did not show.
I guess they were catering to everybody. But not to me. Made it work, but the execution was lacking.
Disappointing
Cart path only...understandable...but stacked -up play with no marshal translates into 3 hours + to play the front nine. That's rediculous. Wasn't able to fit a 6 hour plus round into my day, so had to leave after 9. Not a good day at Deer Creek.
Sweet tough track
Deer Creek is one of the toughest courses to play in the Kansas City area. But it's definitely one of the nicest courses. This Robert Trent Jones design is always in pretty nice shape. I just love the lay out. The holes are interesting. The first hole is a tough dog leg left...it requires a long tee shot and then you have an uphill approach. But the second hole has a nice open fairway with a wide green. The third hole is awesome....long and then a tough green with a creek in front. It always keeps you on your toes. There are some fun par 5's and some long par 3's. Bring your A game and enjoy this sweet track.
Find another course.
Great course if you are not into playing good golf courses and are just out for a good time. The course is jammed into a subdivision, there is no driving range, the greens were in terrible condition. I was able to count seven other holes in view from the sixth tee box. Tight fairways running adjacent to each other make this a dangerous course. We paid about $50 to play, I would not pay more than half that in the future.
Nice layout. Good use of natural lay of the land.
Course was in good shape overall. Staff friendly and helpful. Only reason for the lack of the fifth star was that there was a small "tournament" on the course in front of us that slowed down the pace of play considerably.
Play was not managed well by management
Watched a few groups tee off before tee time. 4 some with beginners ahead of us. On second tee, observed group have person take add'l 6 strokes after teeing off and still only 100 yards off in the rough, from tee box. It was like that all day behind them! They should of played best ball with these people, instead of stringing out everyone behind them.Asked Burly guy from course riding around ( assumed Marshall ) in cart about play ahead of us as I knew for sure there was at least 1 if not 2 open holes ahead of four some we were behind. Keep in mind I am in a 2 some and a 3 some behind us. Gave the Burly guy a club we had found and he replied it was stacked up all over the course. This was hole 6 when asked. Stayed behind 4 some but they stopped at club house so our 2 some and 3 some behind us went to 10. 3.5 hours to play front nine! Keep in mind the 3 some kept hitting into us to speed us up, but we were not the issue.
It took us till hole 15, before we even caught up to anyone on the back nine, so obviously it was not stacked up all over. Also it was cart path only, but saw several groups starting back nine driving all over the course. It took 1.5 hours to play the back nine without being behind the 4 some.
When I went in to voice my concerns, no Management around, just a young man who said he was the only one there.
I like the course, but if I continue to experience slow unsupervised play, I will not be returning !!
Stock up on beverages.
The course was in good shape and is a really nice design. The issue I have is not seeing a beverage cart from the 4th to the 17th hole on a hot Sunday in August. The on-course water coolers were empty, too. The marshals must have been hiding under a shade tree because we didn't see one past the 8th tee. Not the service I expected from an "upscale" course. An email to the GM went unanswered.
left wanting
I've played this course before and was satisfied. This last outing was not as good.Greens were in bad shape and there was no water to be found throughout the course, and for temperatures in the mid 90's...need I say more. Hopefully there are better days ahead.
Good Time. Fun golf course
Tee times available and pace of play moved nicely. Hole # 10 was closed and made to a par three due to bridge damage, Other than that everything was in good shape.
