Wonderful course
The course was challenging and fun. The staff was friendly and polite. Would recommend
This was my 1st time playing here and it will not hopefully be my last. Course was in excellent shape and the staff was extremely helpful and courteous.
Fun course
Hunter's Ridge is a well maintained and a fun course to play. They have several tee boxes for every level of player. Tee times are well managed and staff are friendly. The two nines are quite different with the front being the easier side in my opinion. The back requires more careful placement and may not always require a driver off the tee. The one area that needs some improvement is the tee boxes. The grass is a bit thin and sparse. Overall I love the course at its price point, $60 on weekends with a cart. I got the hot deal on Golf Now for $28!
Go back every year
Really a challenge
Windy days add at least 3-5 shots
Downhill Downwind leave the cover on Mr.3 wiggle
Needs a little help
Gets a lot of play, grass on greens were matted down, fast, when realistically with the rain we have had recently, they should have been slower.
Traps were not cared for or raked, perhaps they are
going to change to grass bunkers?
Staff is always pleasant.
We need SAND
The bunkers need sand, I hit out of 6 bunker and sparks flew off my wedge! C'mon Nate, lobby for some sand!! LOL I play here 10 to 15 times per season, and love the precision that you need to score here! Well kept fairways and greens can be fast when they are mowed and rolled. The putts run true when you get the speed matched up, challenging most of the 12 to 15 handicappers I play with.
Conditions Could Be Better
I play Hunters probably 15-20 times per year, and will continue to come back at that pace. But, I have to complain a little about a few conditions. One, the second green has been recovering from a fungus for like three years now - just burn it and start over! I feel like this is the most challenging hole on the course because of the green, and to have a significant portion of the surface area barely playable is not acceptable (although it has gotten better). Second, if you hit into a bunker you are screwed. Most bunkers have very little sand left in them, it's almost like hitting out of a parking lot in late March. Several are being grown in with grass, but the ones that are left should be be taken better care of. Other than that - everything about this course is top notch. The practice areas and driving range are fantastic, it's a great value for a very challenging course. The staff is super friendly and Nate is a great pro. The clubhouse patio is a great place to have a couple of post round beers, or maybe a one or two on the way home from work. This place is so close to being the best course in the area with just a little bit of change.
Could be better
This place has so much potential. If they cut the fairways evenly or manicured the tee boxes at all, this course could be a 4 to 5 star course. It’s two different courses in one and makes you play many different shots. The bunkers, although a high priced upkeep, could contain sand throughout each one. The few times I was in a bunker, I encountered thin lies that you don’t know about until you hit your ball.
The staff are fantastic and the clubhouse is clean.
