Island Green on 18 is tougher than it looks. Very happy with par! Photo submitted by putt4d0 on 03/15/2016

Irons
This is a great game to work on your short game. If you aren't sharp, you can lose a lot of golf balls.
No
Never again. Wouldn't even if it was free. Bad design and they never shut the sprinklers off
Great deal
Hard to find that quality and size of course for that price
Unique, Fun Round of Golf
Challenging little 18 hole track that offers many unique features you won't find anywhere else in the KC metro, especially the peninsula green on #18. Could use a little more grass on the tee boxes but overall the course is in great shape and an outstanding value.
decent value
They offer unlimited golf after 2 which makes it worth it if you are wanting to play more than 18 otherwise it's probably not worth the 20+ dollars
Great Value
First timer at Oak Country.
Best quality for the cost. There are a few clover patches that can hide the ball, however the conditions are pretty nice. No sandtraps, yet plenty of water hazards.
Each hole is different and the course is very unique from any other in KC.
Tight/dirty parking lot on rainy days. Back 9 is extremely short.
Other than that...it is a great place for any golfer that doesn't want to wait for a tee time!
Keep your driver at home
Fairly decent course, pretty shirt. Only used my driver once. Course requires some strategy on holes to lay up on or go for it. Trees every where but not an issue if you play the fairways. Several holes use severe elevation change to add to their difficulty. Staff was really nice and the beer was really cold.
Has some difficult holes where you can loose balls.
CHALLENGING GOLF COURSE. MANY DIFFERENT
HOLES IN DIFFICULT POSITIONS. GREENS WERE
LIKE CARPET.
Great Value
Love this course. A lot of fun. Not always in the greatest condition but a fantastic value and the 18 island green is great.
Not worth your time
The course is in need of immediate attention, greens are in awful condition. We were teeing off and up popped a sprinkler head and started spraying. This occurred on 3 different holes and it was mid day. We didn't even finish our game. Very disappointed. Won't be going here again.
Great valued course!
This course is tucked away in one of De Soto's secluded developments. The course requires the utmost accuracy to avoid numerous creeks, ponds, and horribly placed trees. The strategy required to successfully avoid these obstacles does create a very fun experience. The fairways and tee boxes need some attention, but the greens are fairly good. The price for 18 holes with a cart makes Oak Country a great value though. You would be hard pressed to find similar conditions anywhere in the KC area for the same price. Definitely give it a shot.
Fairways & Greens Need Some Work
Couldn't beat the price of $15 for 18 holes. The course has always been challenging, but playing it on a holiday, made it even more so with many other golfers. The staff are SUPER NICE and were very helpful in providing some extra balls/tees on the turn. I can honestly say that I have not lost as many balls as I did at Oak Country in the last 3 years!!! The rough and fairways were in bad shape, and you couldn't find your ball unless you were right on top of it! Would play it again, especially if the price is right!!!!
Staff great but some golfers....?
Played the back nine 1st and everything was great until I reached the #1 hole and found that I had left my pitching wedge fromt my new set back at a previous green.
Stopped in to ask the staff and they were very helpful but no one had turned in the club.
So I back tracked to try and find it and some guys said they saw a guy that said he found a club but when a found him and asked he denied it. So, someone lifted it! Man! What happened to ethics on the golf course!! I nor any of the gentlemen I play with would ever do that!
After that I became discoraged and didn't even finish the game!
rough was Very long and tough, lost quite a few balls in play because the rough was so long, fairway were good, greens were receptive. owner awesome

Maintenance needed!!!
This course could be a very nice track... a lot of imaginative and creative holes with many doglegs and a island green next to a silo!! But the course looks as though it has not seen any care. Fairways and greens, believe it or not, are hard-packed mud with patchy areas of grass. Greens need to be re-done and fairways need to be re-sodded!!! There is a reason this course is only costing $10 for 18 holes, including cart!!!
Great value!
This course is not Pebble Beach, but it does have a great personality. For the price you can't beat it. Challenging and fun in a quirky kind of way.
Short course
If you're looking for a short course to play this is the one. I only used my driver twice dut to the shortness of the course. The front nine is fairly open, but the back nine gets pretty tight. Fun 18th hole which is a par 3 with the green on an island.
Mediocre course for a cheaper price.
This course looks and feels like it was carved out of a nature trail and not in a good way. The fairways were not well maintained. Most greens had heavy wear. There are a few open fairways but most have tree over hangs in front of the tee box preventing you from a decent tee shot. I ended up not using my driver at all and my 3 hybrid only twice due to the fact you can afford to get any loft under the ball off the tee.
It's fun to play but a little brother to a regular course.
I thought the course was fun to play. It's a short course. There are several holes that are withing range of your clubs but your not getting to the green unless you can shape a shot like a video game. There are some trees that block shots completely and make getting on the green about luck not skill.
The grass needs some TLC in all areas. The greens are ok for the most part, the tee boxes are being worked on and the fairways have some rough patches.
The island green was the reason we went and it was fun. It's not the famous PGA layout but it's still fun to try to hit it. Take an old ball and bet your buddies on making one in the silo on 18.
I would recommend this course to go have fun playing golf. If you try to take things too seriously your going to be disappointed. However, if you can just have fun playing the course and trying fun shots you'll have a good time.
Good Course
Me and my friends are very beginner golfers, so we lost lots of balls and very challenging for us.
