several pretty ponds on this 9 hole course Photo submitted by reneuend on 07/14/2018
Great 9 hole course
I play it All the time and this year they are really taking care of it!!!
Pace of play was extremely slow, almost 3 hours for 9 holes. Groups were cutting in front of us and in front of the group behind. Staff didn’t do anything about it, rather they said we know it happens.
We quit after 9 holes. Went inside to tell the staff and they had no care in the world. Will not be returning.
Simple 9 hole course with some nice features
This is a 9 hole course (not 18). The holes are tightly built next to each other, so if you miss, you'll likely be in another fairway. The conditions were pretty good considering the low budget feel. The greens were in great shape though, so I commend the keepers for that. There were several ponds, which definitely made this a better than average low budget course. The 8th and especially the 9th hole were the most memorable. If you go for the green on this par 4, you have to hit about 230 yards to carry a pond directly in front of the green or if you are very accurate, you can hit a very slim shot to the left of the pond, but more than 30 yards to the left and you are in trees. If you lay up, its about 150 yards to the water. It was a fun hole. I would recommend going for it with a cheap ball just for fun.
I can see this course as being fun for locals. It's perfect for walking. You really don't need a cart.
If you are out for fun and don't care too much about the conditions or tight layout, I would recommend at least trying it once.
Kids and New To Golf Friendly
First off, the staff is great and friendly. They make you feel very welcomed when you come in. I took my 7y old son out for a quick 18. The course is very simple in its layout. Great for beginners and kids. Not to say it’s not challenging still. The greens are smaller and roll slower than most which makes it difficult to get a true read on the put. It’s a fun place to play and would recommend this over mindlessly waking balls at a driving range.
Nice 9 hole course with good variations
I had played here twice before but I don't remember the course being in such good condition. There is good variations between holes, it's fun.
Great time with the wife
Wide open fairways, VERY forgiving and not busy on a Sunday (probably because NFL) so it was very relaxing with no feeling of being rushed. I will definitely be back.
Payment
The staff was friendly but had no clue how golfnow works. They charged me at the course and charged my card. So I paid double what I thought. For the original price it would be a very excellent deal.
2nd time here
Friendly staff, facilities clean, wish they had better cart path. We'll be back.
Disappointment Galore!
Last , I use play course weekly. The greens were pock marked, missing the grass, and hard Astroturf. Tee box, it's so hard to get tee . I had to pour water on the ground to get a start! So I started other courses.
Had a friend who was interested in learning golf. So I took her here. Wide fairways not too hard. Hole 3, I'm 170 yards out, so i used a 7 iron. Towering shot, It hit front of the green bounced 20 feet over the trees in back and landed on the cart path...on the other side of the next fairway!
Fairway is non existent. Cannot differentiate from the rough. Or there is no grass and you're hitting off hard dirt. Told my friend, on a REAL golf course, there's grass. On a REAL golf course there are greens that actually hold the ball. It was her FIRST time on a course and she says there HAS to be a better course.
The 8th tee box had absolutely no grass!!
Found out this course is owned by the same people who run Elks Run, and Northern Kentucky GC as well. If they were GM, Elk's Run would Cadillac, NKGC would Buick and Meadowood would be the broken down Chevy on blocks.
Head over to another course...
Paid for 18, Only Allowed to Play 9
We paid for 18 holes, tee time of 0920, but when we arrived at 0830 we were told we could only play 9 because an outing had apparently been booked for ~1130...
Take it slow
Might have been because it was Sunday, but it took 3 hours just to play 9 holes. Waiting on other golfers took the most time. Fairways need work. Alot of dead grass. Good course for beginners or cheapskates like me that don't like to lose golf balls.
Unfriendly staff disrespectful take your money 10minutes down the road!
I am not a seasoned golfer but have been to alot of the courses in this area and by far this is the least challenging of them all a good golf course to attempt to learn on most fairways are right next to each other so you have a lot of wait time waiting on people in your fairway etc. With that said I have been to this course 5 times 2 of the 5 times I had their grounds keeper following us. We keep to pace of play and have stroke limits to keep to that but was told we were holding up the course and we needed to leave. We had a group of 4 in front of us and 1 guy walking the course behind us and no one waiting on him. Absolutely disrespectful we were originally refused our money back and had to contact the owner who said and I quote "I have to side with my employee". My second time at the course they overbooked tee times and no carts were available while waiting for one we ended up walking the entire course instead! With that being the way they treat their customers and with an employee like that I would suggest business elsewhere!
Golf
My friend and I golfed yesterday and had a great time at the course! Great course for beginner golfers! The only problem is had a hard time finding where the next hole was as some of them didn't have the hole number marked beside them.
Course
Being only 9 holes it's difficult to play 18 without having to wait a long time. A lot of duffers on the course
Great for the beginners
This course is a gem for the golfer that wants to play in a reasonable amount of time, that is forgiving, yet provide for some challenging shots. The course is very easy to walk. I brought my 12 year old son and we played in just under two hours. The greens were in good shape. There is water on 3 holes which made the play a little more fun.
Staff was friendly and not pushy. Had a nice snack bar with the normal golf course food. We both walked for $22.. Great afternoon of fun.
A good deal for the price!
Not a very difficult course at all. Great place to take a junior to teach them etiquette and conduct. Like others have said, no marshals on duty and the patients sort of run the asylum. Still, with some patience this can be a fun day of golf. The burgers and beer at the bar are great, as is the staff.
This course is easy to play.
Enjoyed playing this course. I have a lot of memories of the old layout of 9 holes and then 18 that I have played when in high school in the early 70s. Really enjoyed the memories only wish it hadn't been changed so much. But still thoroughly enjoyable.
