What happened
I love Kenton County but man, the course is not in the condition I am use to. The fairways were burnt out but the worst part was the tee boxes. I have never seen them look so bad. Weeds and like crabgrass coming up. It wasn't like the good ole days I am used to. I know they got rid of Dave Peru and it shows. It's unfortunate but the guy knew how to maintain a golf course. I hope the new guy gets it back to what it usually is. I will play there again, but I sure hope it gets better.
Willows is fantastic course with good hole variety
Paid for 18, could only get through 12 due to sunlight. Pace of play is awful, 9 holes took nearly 3 hours.
Willows Course
Employees there were polite. Pace of play was very poor. Over 5 hrs and waited on most every shot. Layout of golf holes is pretty good and offers a nice variety of looks.
Dried out
Great value, but expect some terrible bounces in the fairway. Very dry this spring and you're going to get some bad roll out. Greens are absolute trampolines. Bump and run where you can.
Rain Check
I only got to play 9 holes because of the rain and I wasn’t able to get a rain check. Staff insisted that I go through GolfNow to get that refund, but GolfNow says to go through the course. Not happy about it.
Great coirse
Staff does a great job keeping up with the course. Excellent condition for a local public course! Layout is challenging enough to where it's not easy, but manageable. Lots of hills and undulation. Green complexes on the other hand are quite challenging. Many of the greens are tiered, sloped, and the pin placement was quite challenging. Especially on 10. That green is vicious!
General manager is rude and the pace of play is terrible
Time and time again these rounds take 5-6 hours, Dave the general manager is scum of the earth and is just rude to everyone that’s not in his clique. Course is decent but wouldn’t come back
Beautiful Day for Golf
Playing the Willows for the 3rd time this year. Course is challenging but there are no unfair holes. You must get off the tee to score. Greens were in good shape and fast. Downhill putts were crazy fast! A few places around the greens with burnt grass but repair work was in place. I recommend for a good round of golf to play and enjoy.
