Great place to golf!
We were very happy with our golf outing! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the course was challenging and fun. The bunkers and some of the greens need a little tlc, but definitely worth the price!
Picadome, A Must Play!
Overall the course was excellent! The classic course feel gave it a very fun layout that is atypical to modern courses but still encompasses the challenge of a newer course with smaller greens and tighter fairways. These aspects definitely add to making a fun twist on an already enjoyable course, certainly recommend playing!
Nothing special
Trees on this course need serious attention. 1 hole had an entire tree that had fallen onto the blue tee box. Had 3 nice drives knocked down by overgrown branches hanging over the fairway. Greens hadn't been watered at all for a long time and were so hard and fast that no amount of backspin mattered because the ball would bounce like the green was the cart path and the grass was cut slightly uneven which made the roll of puts and short chips incredibly unpredictable. It is obvious that the city is holding back on the budget. While, due to COVID closures, most of the courses in the area are immaculate, this one was below expectations.
Fun but challenging course
A few tee boxes were in really bad shape but fairways and greens were well taken care of
Picadome
Course was in good condition and pace of play was good. Passed two groups easily as a single player. Value was decent, course is challenging, i will play again.
Nice course
Narrow fairways with wide grassy areas of rough contribute to a more challenging experience than expected. Traps frequently had little sand in them. Overall, a nice city course that I’ll look forward to playing again.
Horrible
Fairways are awful for the price. They squeeze way to many people in to try to make more money so it took 6 hours to play which is awful
Great Value
I have played this course fairly regularly since moving to Lexington and keep coming back. It's a steal as far as price goes, especially if you get the twilight rate. Always in good enough shape. Some greens are on the small side. In my opinion, the course plays much easier from the whites than the blues, with the difference between the two being larger than most courses. The blues pose much harder looks due to trees, etc. All in all, I'd recommend to about anyone.
Good Muni-Style Course
Visiting in Lexington and stopped at Picadome. Had a pleasant experience on this very apparent older design course. The conditions were pretty good and course neatly laid out and cared for. Level of difficulty on this rather short track is not hard from the the forward tee box, but the blue tees add significant complexity and length to toughen up a good number of the holes. Used all but two clubs in my bag playing from the tips. Only a few real threats of losing a ball exist on this course and most danger is derived from the placement of large mature trees, a couple tight dog-legs, and generally very small greens (smallest I recall anywhere) which require a certain degree of precision with the iron play, particularly on approach shots. Great course for walkers and lovers of muni-style golf. Will return.
City Course with Country Club feel
In Lexington for a week and what a great group of city courses. This one was at the top of the list. It has an old country club design and conditioning with some great looks. We played Monday and immediately made a tee time to come back Thursday. Since we were new in town and playing for the first time , a staff member gave us a quick overview on the 1st tee. Everybody was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Played in just a little over 3 hrs both days. People who live in Lexington should be grateful to have this type of course available at city course pricing.
Good Old school course, small greens, decent layout.
One of the better public courses in Kentucky. Short but challenging from the white tees. A real challenge from the blue tees. Small greens with lots of subtle break. Some with moderate to severe break. A shot placement course. Driver not required on all holes but a well placed shot is rewarded. Easy to let a round get away from you as there is trouble looming at every hole.
Picadome Golf
This course isn't great. Not long and not in the greatest condition. This course had pipe work done last year because of drainage. Not a course I would recommend to a friend. If you are a late golfer though, you get a great deal after 6 pm.
