Lone Oak is a nice course for working a players shot shaping and club selection.
Decent value
This is an old style golf course, built in a subdivision. The tees and greens get crowded on a lot of the holes. You need to hit it straight or you will be yelling "Fore" quite a bit. Not a lot of land used for an eighteen hole golf courses. Best part of course was the greens. They roll true and are quick enough to be a challenge.
Great course
Lone Oak is a great course..... Courteous staff and very friendly..... I will definitely play this course again.
Could be better
Has potential to be a very nice course. Staff very friendly. Greens all good and somewhat challenging. Fairways in poor shape, on back nine had to drive on ruff. Lots of bare spots (I know they are working on them.) Some temporary tees on fairway. The little things were noticeable--No water or dirty water in ball washers, no score card on carts, cool water, not ice, in water coolers. If these issues were fixed, this would be a very nice course.
Good layout, poor condition
Layout is good. Doglegs in both directions, water holes, a few bunkers, and trees. A bad shot is recoverable, however a terrible shot is not. Fairways are wide, but need attention. Greens were in good shape
