Greens in very good condition
Awesome course, well taken care of. Some tuff holes. GPS on carts very helpful. Will be back, next time planing on teeing it forward. For a different look.

One of the best courses around Lexington
This course is one of my favorites! The only complaint I had about yesterday was they were working on the fairways, but that is part of normal course maintenance so I have no issues with that. It was just a little intrusive on a couple of holes. Other than that the course is in immaculate shape. The greens are some of the best around. I can't wait to go back and play as soon as I can.

Great as always
Play this course several times a year and it is always in great shape. Only critique is we went after a rainy weekend and there was a lot of mowing going on and disrupted a peaceful round. Part of playing golf so not a complaint.
We apologize that you caught our mowers during your round! Hopefully the course was pristinely mowed for the golf :)

Excellent as always
This is my favorite course in the greater Lexington area. Always in great shape and a challenge. Not a long drive at all from Lexington and worth every bit of the time and money.

Course conditions were outstanding. Houston Oaks is usually in great shape; however, this was as nice as I have seen it. Great conditions.

Long drive, well worth it
Drove from Louisville because of previous reviews of this golf course, and I was not disappointed, I played the tips and had a 1020 tee time and played to a score of ever par, and played in 3 hours. The gps was fantastic, the greens were especially nice rolling true and quick. I have only one regret and that's not playing their course again for their great replay rate, hopefully I'll not be lazy and drive back to play there again soon. One of the best values in the state.
See, I love the great customer service, it was actually so good, that I was back again this week, shot 79, played much worse but still enjoyed myself. Wish the regulars took care of their ball marks on the greens more, otherwise it was again spectacular! Love that golf course. Oh, and found out that my old boss (Superintendent Rich Balismo) is your head superintendent. Fantastic stuff, next week when I'm back again I'll have to find him and say hello.

Beautiful course
Great day out and obvious that owners take great care and pride in presenting a nice golfing experience. Lots of beautiful annual flowers planted and well maintained to add to the beauty of perennial and wild flowers around the course. The tee boxes were nicely sprinkled so as easy to get tees in the ground. This is the best this course has looked and played in a number of years!

New favorite
This course is an absolute gem. Good variety of landscape. Challenging play, yet forgiving. Great scenery and excellent conditions. Superb staff and facilities. The only fault I saw was players not fixing their ball marks. It's a peeve of mine and it happens every where. I cannot fault HOGC for someone else's laziness. I can't wait to go back. Do yourself a favor and play this course.

A Real Gem in every way
Scenic, challenging, yet fair layout: excellent fairways and greens; very good value for seniors during the week ($25 including cart). From 9 open but with testy doglegs; back 9 has several water hazards. A good course for women and seniors. Back tees will stretch even the best players. Staff is courteous, friendly, and helpful. Terrific hamburgs and hotdogs in grill.

Fun and challenging
Course offers lots of fun and challenges for all levels. The greens are large with lots slope making a 3 putt a definite possibility.

Always good
I have played this course several times a year for the last 5 years and its always in great condition. The greens are very fast and tricky. I wish I could depend on all courses I play to be in as good a condition as this course always is. Great value Golfnow

Beautiful Course
Great course, have drove past it several times hoping to play one day. Houston Oaks is top rated course in great condition. Enjoyed the beauty of the area and the fairness of the course. The greens roll true and have very subtle breaks that the locals know but first timers can miss. My wife and I had a great experience and will be back

Every course has its ups n downs but Houston Oaks is in excellent condition 95% of the time. All you have to worry about when you go there is... did you bring your A game.

Great course
The course is kept in great condition. It can be challenging but if you make a mistake you aren't completely doomed. The greens are very fast and challenging. Overall it's one of my favorite courses especially in the Lexington area.

Tough track
Great course, another must play in the Lexington area. A lot of different types of holes, you better be on your game or this course will tear you up! I'm a 9 hdc and shot 91, my drives were erratic, approach shots were a little off line, and I payed dearly for that, very difficult to get it up and down, hole after hole! I will definitely be back, of course, using only GN to make my tee times. I certainly won't bring this course to it's knees, but I'm confident I'll be able to score much better each time I play. Give this gem a try and let me know how you did.
