Houston Oaks Golf Course

Great golf course. Very well maintained with great greens, bunkers well raked and everything manicured. Each hole has its own characteristics. Highly recommend.

We got the foursome special and felt like we hit the jackpot. Had a wonderful time!

Houston Oaks is a beautiful golf course. The scenery, the houses, everything was nice. I played by myself and the young lady that sent me off told me to go to #10 so that I wouldn't be slowed down by the foursome teeing off on #1. The cart girl was friendly and the young man that gave me a chicken salad sandwich (highly recommended) was nice too. Great weather, great course, couldn't ask for more. The greens were in good shape, but they were super fast. Highly recommend Houston Oaks!

This course is in excellent condition. Fairways and greens were smooth and true..surprising after a bad winter. The staff was friendly and accommodating. A very pleasant experience!

Course in good cond staff friendly. Played in a Sunday morning in 41/2 hrs. Good all around experience.

Houston Oaks puts a premium on driving distance and accuracy. Course is in excellent shape, but it really helps to drive the ball long and it is critical to get in the fairways. Rough here is very tough--thick and heavy and brutal to blast out of. Greens were firm but fair. Staff was very friendly. Got a great deal through Golf Now so got great value for my money.

The course had been aerified two weeks prior and the greens were still barely puttable. They would probably be very nice normally. It would be nice if these courses would notify Golfnow when they do this. Overall, the course is nice. Beautiful fairways, bunkers in good condition. Would definitely like to play it again when the greens are healed and the leaves are on the trees.

It was cold about 40 degree when I played there, and a staff asked us whether we needed a cart cover. We said, no, but later we seriously regretted saying that. Overall the course was well-maintained, and not crowded at all. Will visit it again!!

Had I known that this course was a Golf Community course....I'd have went somewhere else.....Previous Reviews never mentioned that and I try to avoid them as they all tend to be a "Cookie Cutter" type course....Not one hole had any Memorable Features and was Quite Boring to play!!

What a course. Best in the area, they could easily get away with charging $75 a round. Great conditions, scenery is beautiful, A good mix of long and short 3s, 4s, and 5s. Plenty of hero shot opportunity and punishment for errant shots.

I have never seen this course looking any better. Perfect conditions. Beautiful. GPS on cart. Great snack bar. Chilli and pimento cheese sandwhich. I rarely eat at any course, but that was too good to pass up.

Houston Oaks is probably my favorite course in the area. The course is always well maintained and the fairways and greens are normally immaculate. The course offers a great test of golf while remaining playable for the higher handicapper also. Beware the rough on this course! While it is not particularly tall, the combination of bluegrass and fescue always seems to let the ball fall to the bottom and the results can be punitive. The staff at Houston Oaks is the friendliest around and only adds to a great experience on the course. I highly recommend this course!

I would have given this course at least a 4 if we had been able to play the whole 18. Since they were aerating the front nine we had to play the back nine twice. It would have been a better value to play the whole 18.
The fairways were in real good shape and the greens were in real good shape and played fair. They weren't fast on one and slow on another.

Have not played this course in several years. Now I wish I had played it more often. Course in great shape, friendly staff and excellent cheeseburger at turn.

I have been wanting to play Houston Oaks for years, but just didn't find the time or right deal. GolfNow hooked us up with a $21 fee w/cart and it was more than worth the 40 minute trip. The course is not easy, I will say that, but it is exciting. Many deceiving shots, long par 5s, sharp fairway turns, and blind shots. Only thing that was left to be desired was a variance in par 3s. It felt like every par 3 was 165-180 yards and pretty straight forward layout wise. Greens were tricky with the breaks and platforms. We played from the back tees. Probably not a great idea the first time out. I will definitely return to take this course on again.

The staff was superb, the food was darn good and the golf course was absolutely one of the best I've played all year. THe rough was rough, but just stay out of it. :). Having the GPS distance finders was a real bonus and sped up play considerably. I can't wait to play there again.

From the clubhouse, to the tees, to the fairways, to the greens...an excellent experience. Cudos to the staff!!

This was my first time at Houston Oaks, and really enjoyed the course a lot. It took me about three holes to realize the green are very hard packed and only the highest shots would stick and stay on the green. After that i stated playing up a little short and bouncing the approach shots in. The course is well maintained and well layed out. I will return and play again soon.
