Houston Oaks Golf Course

The rough was a little long the morning we played. Making it very difficult for the members of our group that didn't play very often. But the design of the course and the condition of the greens and tee boxes made up for their length.

This course was in excellent condition and while the course was very busy due to a scramble pace of play was not effected and we coasted right on through! The course was in great form and the greens were groomed nicely, the greens were also very challenging. Carts are equipped with GPS which is always nice; all in all I loved the course and will definitely be returning to this course in the near future!

I've been wanting to play this course for awhile. Great layout. Course and Greens in terrific shape. Super friendly staff and patrons. The location may be off the beaten path, but well worth the drive through horse country. No disappointments here!!!

This was my first time at Houston Oaks. To say the least I was extremely impressed with this hidden of a golf course. The GPS system was very effective and accurate. Greens rolled great. Fairways were in excellent condition. Was a pleasure to play the ball as it lies!! A definite must play in Kentucky!

The fairways were consistently good. Your could feel very comfortable hitting into the shot. The grass on the fairways wasn't too long.

My son and I played this course on Sunday, June 30 in the afternoon. Course play was steady but good pace of play.
The course was in great shape even with the ample amounts of rain we have been receiving. Good fairways and greens with not overly thick rough made for enjoyable golf. Course plays long from the tips and has several par 3 holes at or over 200yds.
Gps on golf carts makes it nice for distance estimations. The cousre has several elevation changes and water is in play on a couple of holes.
This is probably one of my favorite golf courses in the Lexington area. I would definitely recommend it.

Fairways and greens were in great shape. The greens were fast and true, however, they were firm and did not hold shots well.

Houston Oaks was in great shape the day I played. I try to come play the course several times a year, and I love it every time. Best greens I've ever putted on a public course, and easily top 5 greens of any course I've played.

A very well-maintained course, especially the fairways (when I could find them with the ball!). As a moderate player, I appreciate a layout where most of the lies were on relatively flat land rather than on a hillside. We arrived about 45 minutes earlier than expected and were allowed to go ahead and play...much appreciated!

Houston Oaks is in great shape. The greens are well maintained and are very fast. The course layout is challenging. They also have great features. The carts have nice GPS systems with food ordering so that your food is ready when you make the turn. Great value for the money!

The rain came on 16 and we did not get the last 4 holes in. I asked the clubhouse about a rain check and they said I had to take it up with 'Golfnow' I think in the future I will just deal directly with the courses.

Bunkers were washed out from recent rains. They were almost unplayable. Love the corse though.

as stated above we caught this course for about 50% off normal pricing. The course was beautiful,. The fairways were like carpet and the greens were in great shape. long course but manageable. try it!

Was expecting good course, but was surprised by high quality. Greens were about as good and fast as any I have played, fairways were near perfect.

very good course, we played in mid april and course was coming around......very good shape for time of year. sand traps were the best we played in lexington area, which had a lot of rain two days before. fairways, tees and greens excellent. we had some trouble finding balls which missed the fairway as rough was plush and about 6 inches high. located in middle of horse country....beautiful drive up from lexington.
staff helpful and very friendly. gps on original cart wasn't operating and they changed out for us as soon as we notified them.

Played early in the season and the course was in good shape for early April. I can see how when the roughs grow in and the greens are less fuzzy this course could be challenging.

The holes on this golf course are gorgeous. Its nice to play at a course where someone rakes the traps like they are supposed to and the greens are not pitted and ugly. Even though it is still the off season this course was very well maintained and the surroundings are relaxing and enjoyable.

This is the best keep course I have been on for a long time

This courses is always in great shape and maybe the best public course in Bluegrass region. Greens quick with a lot of break. Roll smooth. Tee boxs great shape and from the tips tough enough for the best golfers. Always enjoy Houston Oaks. Neat drive thru a old horse barn.
