Friendly people and decent course
Never having played in Maine before, I didn't know what to expect. It was a bit rustic. Fairways were a little hard to distinguish from the clover fields surrounding them. Not much of a challenge for the better golfer but we were there to have fun, tell stories and swing the club. Mission accomplished. I've played it 4 times so far.
There are a couple of long par 3's (over 200 yds) some long par 4's and 5's. What really saved the bacon in the review were the greens. Very well maintained. True, quick and spotless with one side note: the person(s) cutting the greens chooses to do one clean up pass around the perimeter of the green. Not only does it make a groove around the perimeter, but there also some small gouges caused by this practice as well.
As for value, I know it's a short season, so I won't be too harsh, but $105 including cart for 18 is a bit steep, especially for the quality.
If you're going to play 5 rounds while vacationing, I'd highly recommend the buy 4 get a 5th round for free.
It's the best in the Camden - Rockland area and I will be back several more times.
Not worth $100
We were in the area for a wedding and wanted to play a round of golf. I am from New York and used to paying for a decent round of golf. This course underwhelmed. The back nine is nicer than the front. But when I pay $100 to play a round of golf I have certain expectations. This course fell well short.
Charging full rate when the greens are aerate just is not right.
Great greens!
The course was in very good condition considering the lake of rain. The greens however were fast and excellent!
Fun Round!!!
We’re paired with a fun couple playing the course for the first time. Led to lots of questions followed by more fun golf. Course offers a good test to golfers of all levels. Staff was very customer oriented. Bar/restaurant has a good selection to offer before, during or after of food and drink. Sitting on deck offers one a chance to enjoy watching golfers, while having good food and drink….
