Good Track
Good track with lot of different type of holes. Serious course to walk. Looking forward to playing it in the summer
Fairway Hills March 2022
Have not played here in 2 years. The course has new golf carts and they all have a GSP system, so that helps if you are riding. For walkers, the course removed the "color flag system" to determine the pin placement on the greens. Guess they want to entice players to rent a cart more. The course up-keep continues to be good, sure there are some rough-patches here and there , but its March . You can visually see the managements efforts to maintain the course, so that is always a good sign. Today the weather was perfect ( sunny 70 degrees, with a slight breeze), so the course was packed, meaning pace of play is very very slow. Because there is a mix of walkers and riders it makes for very uneven and predictable slow pace of play , especially when there are long distances to cover walking between some holes.
I wish and I will wish again, that management would maybe block certain windows of tee-times for walkers exclusively . The current mix does not work well on a course that is ideally located which gets a lot of play. Take that into consideration if you wish to have a 4 hour round on a very nice day if you are riding. If you are a walker, man you will earn your exercise ,otherwise I am fond of playing here but its not my top choice if I don't have 5 plus hours.

I would have given it 5 stars for the condition but after all, it is still coming back from winter.
nice day at Fairway Hills
was President's Day and totally sold out and expected a backed up horrible day - we barely waited at all - the staff does a great job of making sure everybody is ready to play at their tee time.
60 degrees and sunny in feb helped the fun factor - plus we both shot well below our nornal scores!
fairways in reasonable shape for february but the greens have some bad diseased spots and still healing from past aeration.
my girlfriend loves the course but i only like it. mostly the conditions that bring it down, i've played it in spring/summer before and found it still not that great. shape
that said it is a decent track and great pricing and staff - i recommend it just with the above caveats
Definitely a better value than its sister course, Hobbits Glen. I’ve played here several times. This last time was a very slow pace due to the group ahead of us and the Marshal not regulating the pace a little better. Also, when I started, I was waiting for the starter at the booth and he/she never came to send me off so I started at my discretion. There are cheaper courses in Howard County that are but probably not as nice as this one, and the green fees of the nicer ones are through the roof. So this was a decent value by Howard County standards, thanks to GolfNow.
