Golfer Reviews
Always a great round
Best the course has ever looked! We always enjoy playing and brought friends from out of town to play before. Course looks great. Staff was super friendly and helpful and they are running smooth with the COVID restrictions in place. Great job! Keep it up and thank you for letting us get back in the swing again!
Firm and Fast....
Good round during challenging windy day. Greens as firm and fast as I have ever seen. Par 70 design so don't let the short yardage fool you.
good shape. nice course Fairway Hills
i love next to the course. its in pretty good shape. tee boxes and fairways almost perfect. greens even though recently aerated rolled true, fast and nicely. sand bunkers played true as well. great value and good course for howard county and columbia
Course is in not good shape, and $55 is over charge for cpurse.
Not crowded due to cold
Like this course, especially when it's not crowded.
An average course
Walked 9 today, but only the back 9 is open right now. The course layout, at least for the back is interesting. There is a nice mix of holes, but the course is in rough shape as we emerge from winter. Greens were generally in good condition, area around the greens was very patchy. Drainage seems to be an issue, lots of standing water, and it looked like they had been installing draining, as some spots were under repair. I enjoy the front 9 better when golf season comes around, but for $20, it was a good walking 9.
Nice Course! I'd play again
Fairway Hills is a nice little Howard County, MD public course. They don't offer much as far as food, putting green or chipping area, but they usually have a Starter that gets you out on time.
Staff interaction is very limited. They speak to their "regulars", but other than that, they won't say much.
Be careful with the pace. This is a short course as far as yardage, but there's A LOT of travel between holes and they allow "walkers". The walkers cheat and sometimes go out the back nine first because the front is easier to walk.... so they start on #10 to play 10-18 while their legs are freshest. You'll be flying through the front nine - hit a brick wall on the back nine - and not know why. Like I said, there's usually a Starter sitting there, but they allow the "regulars" to do this.
The layout is nice and pretty challenging for a 6200yd (from the Blues) course. I like it because there are holes that I can score well on after blowing up a seemingly easy par 5.
It's a little expensive unless you catch a sale, but a nice course to play. Welcome to Howard County golf.... I will be returning.
Nice value
If you want to practice your irons this is the place ,I took out my driver twice
Narrow fairways,and interesting design
Greens are average
Number 17 is challenging with hi elevation and water on your right
