Course has a good layout
Course was in good shape. Some fairways are tight and punishing with a poor shot. Roughs were a bit heavy and tough to hit from. Greens were in good shape. Overall, a good course.
Gem in Columbia
Fairway Hills is a fantastic little course in Columbia, Maryland. It is not very long, but if you play from the black tees it is challenging. The course was in great condition for this time of year and the layout was interesting. I highly recommend Fairway Hills to anyone who is interested in a great round.
Nice course to walk
Nice course, friendly staff. Comfortable to walk. However, the back could be tiresome as there a few holes with great distances between green to tee.
Said they Didn't accept GolfNow purchases
Had to show the email we received after our purchase of the tee time through the Golfnow app. They said they didn't work with Golfnow and that my cost was without a cart, even though it says directly on the email that a cart is included. Just not good customer service and course was in awful condition. Had just punched the greens without any notification.
Enjoyed the course
Lot's of trouble off many tee boxes and missing the fairway made a ball difficult to find in the tall rough. While it certainly put a premium on your tee shots it would improve speed of play to cut the rough a little shorter to make the ball easier to find. Probably my only complaint on the course. Otherwise really enjoyed it. I hit the fairway 77% of the time on my tee shots. My partner did not have the same luck and probably lost 6 balls in the tall rough. These were balls that were just out of the fairway and could have been easily spotted had the rough been shorter.
Good local course
Not long but a good value. Good target golf without being ridiculously narrow. Nicer than a muni-course. Sufficiently challenging to make shorter yardage acceptable. Great staff kept pace of play moving. 4 hours or so mid-day Saturday.
Love this course
Enjoyable to play. Interesting, well-kept, challenging.
Fairway Hills
Great staff working at Fairway Hills. The greens & fairways were in really good shape , however, the rough was too high, causing slow play. You would have to be within 2 feet of your ball to find it. Would recommend playing this course and will be back. Thanks again to all the great staff @ Fairway Hills.

I Wouldn't Rush Back
Short but interesting public course layout. Very thick foliage off fairways, so keep it in play. There are some very long distances between holes. Tee boxes and greens not in good shape; fairways OK but could use improvement. Course moved slowly; it was not crowded, but it took 4 and a half hours on a late Thursday morning/early afternoon; there were three groups on the par 3 #17 hole. Golfnow deal basically gave me a free cart, but the course's rates are high compared to other public courses. Carts have club/ball washers on them. Clubhouse menu is very limited. Staff all very pleasant.
A Nice Change of Pace
This course is about 45 minutes away and I play it once every 4 or 5 months as I like the layout. Not a fancy place in terms of amenities but they do serve beer so thumbs up on that score. There was a beverage cart but that ended around 4pm - a little early for a summer afternoon. The fairways were in good condition. As good as I have seen them. The greens were in pretty good condition for a municipal course where some players can't be bothered to fix their ball marks. Greens were slick. Fairly fast but more break than I remember from previous rounds. Too many 3-putts for me but I appreciated the challenge. On a few holes long hitters might think they should have played from the tips. But there are a few holes with forced carries that some average, weekend golfers will find difficult but not impossible. This is a very worthy course to play. Give it a try.
Very Happy
Got a good deal plus another cash back to entice me to go 23 miles, middle of the day, opposite traffic. Bug time bargain! A little tight in places but a fair course where scratch to bogey golfers can enjoy the scenic layout and score well. Take advantage of the long shady drives between some holes! Bob, the starter, was a big help!
