Cost
Be ready to shell out some dough - listed on golf now for $43 - paid $73 after small range balls and cart fee - gauging during. COVID -19.....I will remember being taken by Timbers!!!!!!! Golfers beware!!!!!!!
Frost Delay
Only finished 16 holes as we were delayed by a nr 2-hour frost delay. Already a late tee time (1250) we knew it would be tough to finish the round before dark.
Course was nice!
Course in amazing shape for this late in season
Was an overly full day due to a frost delay in morning but they worked everybody in as soon as they could. Fairways and greens in amazing shape.
No bathrooms on the course gets a 1 star rating from my girl friend (but she loves the course in general)
November Golf @ Timbers
Sunny High of 50 degrees, no wind, so great weather for late November. Falling leaves are well managed and did not impact my round. Traps need to be be raked as they are starting to get compacted on account there are no rakes for golfer use ( A Covid thing) Golfers need to really really FIX their divots . Way too many on the greens. I fixed upwards to 3 per hole just to help out, but Timber's should maybe dedicate someone to address divots asap. Or better yet, Preach to the golfers to PLEASE fix their divots.
Fairways are really nice and the tee boxes are above average. Not too many " under-repair" spots and just a few rough spots on a few greens . For a municipal county course, they have done a pretty good job with the course maintenance. . I play here 2 to 3 times a year and this course layout is not boring. Just know there are a handful of "blind" tee shots, so if this is your first time playing here and you don't have someone to provide some intel & advice in your foursome, your best bet would be to not over-swing and maybe scale back off the Tee Box if you are not able to drive your cart up ahead to get a better look at the landing zones on the fairway. I recommend this course.
Love this course
Always a good time and great conditions at this course. Late fall excellent shape. Note that my girlfriend likes it too but gives it a major thumbs down for zero on course porta johns.
Friday morning at Timbers at Troy
The overall course layout was great, a little tight but not too bad. The greens were slow due to the cold weather as the greens keeper were unable to cut the greens. The course was in great condition, we would definitely come back again.
No ranger to manage pace
I’ve been here a couple of times and it hasn’t been bad. The tough part is when there is no ranger to keep pace. We were behind a group that kept leaving their carts off the cart path when current path rules were fairways. They also took their time looking for their ball which made the round unbearable.
Cart fee not included
Course in good shape, but greens had some bumpy spots. Staff were friendly. Beware that the fee you see here does NOT include the cart. Unless you want to walk, you will be paying another fifteen or twenty five for the cart (depending upon whether you want a cart to yourself). This course is not worth the total cost, in my opinion. There are others closeby that are far less expensive and in equally good condition.
Great course
From club house to starter just friendly helpfully people.
Course conditions getting better
Timbers course conditions is getting a little better. The greens are way too slow and bumpy. The fairways are better than normal here. No idea why it was cart path only. The course wasn't wet. Pace of play was very slow. The sand traps really are terrible. There is way too much sand in the traps and it seems like the wrong kind of sand. Balls continually plug due to super fine sand. The course is better than the last time I played it, but still has a ways to go. Also had big problems with the golf carts. Two out of three of our carts had to be replaced in the middle of our round. The carts couldn't make it up the hills on the course.
Fall Timbers
First time at Timbers at Troy...course was in superb condition. Nice variety of holes and distances. Excellent pace of play. I’ll be back.
