About
Black Rock Golf Course may be one of western Maryland's newest courses but it's located near some of the country's most historic sites. Antietam Battlefield and Harper's Ferry are just a few minutes away from this scenic course. The opening holes of the layout are tucked into the Shenandoah Valley while the back nine climbs uphill, offering views that stretch across the Appalachian Mountains. The golf course has plenty of holes that will please long hitters, but mature trees and thick rough frame most of the holes, demanding accuracy. Traps protect the front of most of the greens and you'll come across dramatic undulations on some. The par-4 13th is arguably Black Rock's toughest hole. This sharp dogleg right has a massive tree to the right as well as a pond right in front of the green.

Tuesday is league day
Pace of play was terrible 3hours to play 9. Thankfully the sky opened up and took a rain check. Everybody went off on the back 9 I was the 4th cart in line on the 1st tee. With a foursome in the fairway and another foursome on the green
Bad news
Course in rough shape. No water anywhere even though it was in the 90s and humid. Greens were very slow. Too many course that are much nicer that you drive right by on the way there.
Nice Layout!
The course was in great condition and staff was very friendly. I really like the layout and elevation changes. It really makes you think of your club selection. The rough is challenging, so keep your shots in the fairway. I was up from Florida and the course was very enjoyable.

Course & greens in great shape.
Work being done on many of the bunkers, and the sand in the others was no too good.

Always enjoy this course. Great staff and course always in great condition. Not too challenging but there are some fun holes to keep things interesting.
