"Approach" shot on 13 from middle of "fairway". You have to hit through or around the power poles from 250 out Photo submitted by DrOldSchool on 11/21/2012
Disappointed
There had been tremendous rain the previous 2 days. Course was soaked...it should never have opened. I would not have played it but was locked in due to Golf Now restriction that the course must be closed to avoid payment. Course is somewhat run down w/ some large bunkers no longer in use. Greens were good w/ lots of undulations. Rough was minimal w/ virtually no woods to contend with. Staff was friendly & they are in the process of upgrading some aspects of the course.
Great Greens
Course is wide open. Only defense is the greens. Great greens that need to read properly. You will have fun playing this course.
Excellent bargan
Early in year and course damp. Greens excellent, but
need attention, cleaning and waxing.
Great value for the money.
We went in having low expectations because the price was so good and the previous reviews were a little mixed. it was a delight. Course is very decently maintained. Greens were good, tee boxes ok, fairways a little hard in spots but ok. Course was fine overall. Great views. Some interesting holes with water. Two of the redesigned holes were difficult to read for first timers to course, but course website has printable information on each hole which was a help. We would definitely play this course again.
for the price and location. Maple run is a good spot when you need to get away from a jam packed slow pace golf course
the biggest thing is the relaxation level in the mountains
avg. muni
course is old. nothing great about fairways or greens are avg. at best. carts also old but run ok.
Nice course, great price
Very nice staff. The maintenance grew did an outstanding job of blowing all the leafs off fairways and greens.
not bad for the money
tee boxes needed attention otherwise fairways and greens were decent Had some trouble with hole direction
easy play for average golfer
The only bad thing was some t boxes need attention and back nine could use some TLC
staff is super friendly.
Tee boxes need attention. almost no grass. Sand traps are like clay, need more sand in them. Fairways are fine.
Nice course for weekly play
Couse is well maintained & staff is friendly. Not too challenging but great for lower cost weekly play. Greens however are undulating and are a very real challenge. If I were to suggest any upgrades, I think new carts would be at the top of the list with an updated & upgraded snack bar. All in all though this is a really nice local course. I play there every week.
Worth it only if you get a discounted rate
It is a good value if you live within 30 minutes of the course and can get a discounted rate. We played 18 holes on Labor Day for $20pp. Course is in ok-decent shape, greens could be taken care of better.
Some improvements can be made to make the course more enjoyable.
Saturday - 8/31. Presently many tee off boxes are not clearly marked with the par and distance. Playing the course for the first time, made that difficult for me. The greens were very hard, had not been watered, so although I reached the green in 2/3 long strokes, the ball bounced off the green many times. Liked the course, was not too crowded. Very friendly staff.
The course was in great shape but most of the sand traps were in poor condition.
The course has several dog legs on it, so choosing the correct club of the tee and hitting the correct shot is critical on some holes.
Maple Run Review
The course has a nice lay out and is pretty well maintained except for the back 9 tee boxes. I really enjoy playing this course! I will definitely be back!
Nice course when there is enough rain. Some places may dry out if irrigation is needed.
The course has very nice terrain. It seems that some holes on the back are not as well maintained (including paths) because equipment can't over the bridges. Very welcoming staff.
My over all surmmary was good. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 8.5.
This is a hard course for a high handicape golfer. I don't think
there is a flat green on the whole course. Many dog-leggs, and from some tee boxes you can't see the greens, however, I like the course. From the price I received from golfnow, this was a very good deal. I will definitely play this course again. The golf cart are gas and we had to keep pushing the primer to get the carts to move. This course is tricky and the greens are fast, you have to play this course a few times to get used to it. Gary M.
Super friendly staff, course great for money
I was unable to make my tee time with the GolfNow certificate and staff was eager to accommodate me. The front nine of the course was in excellent shape. Three holes on the back nine, through the woods, needed some attention on the fairways. Altogether a pleasurable experience.
Great staff good value
Love the value you get for this course, well maintained greens were in great condition.
