"Approach" shot on 13 from middle of "fairway". You have to hit through or around the power poles from 250 out Photo submitted by DrOldSchool on 11/21/2012
Look forward to next time
. For a short knocker, I rely on the roll in the fairway. Unfortunately, the Fairways were more like the rough, but that was expected with all the rain we've recently had. Looking forward to playing the course again once they have had a chance to cut the fairways
Borderline unplayable conditions
I will preface this review by saying I have played Maple Run a number of times, both before and after the buyout. Today, I played in what were borderline unplayable conditions. There was absolutely no distinction between the fairway and the rough. We were losing balls in the fairway because they were uncut. The greens were like putting through a minefield. Geese poop infestation on 14 and 15. I understand that we have had a lot of rain recently, but in no world should that be a $55 round of golf. I have seen Maple Run and it’s best, and and it’s worst, and this would most certainly qualify as its worst.
Cute layout and good value for this area.
This track featured pretty good greens, okay traps and tee boxes, fairways were thin but average. The layout featured some fun holes and the staff was great. An unexpected treat was GPS "to the pin" screens in the cart. We'd play here again.
Fun course, motorcycle carts
Fun course with some wooded sections and natural streams which is nice but also makes for soggy conditions even without rain. Would play again but there are nicer courses nearby at the same price point. Motor cycle golf carts available for $20 / person looked fun and would make for a unique experience. Laid back, casual, and friendly staff!
Great Value
Went with my kids, who are learning. They enjoyed the course and had a great time. Pace of play was excellent for a Saturday. Never really waited on the tee or felt rushed by players behind us. Perfect day!
Great, affordable golf
Good course for a newbie like myself, has some fun holes
Course was in great shape.
Great value for the money and the pace of play was outstanding.
Terrific
The course is in great shape! GPS on the carts makes it very convenient.
Ok course. Slow play
Ok course. Nice layout for an affordable track. Course maintenance seems to be just keeping up with things. Unfortunately just another in a long long line of courses with no oversight on slow play. It’s becoming endemic of these affordable courses. It’s a shame - could be a fun course. Setting is beautiful
Nice course, affordable rates
This is a nice course. The greens are in decent shape with a few weeds here and there. The rates are very affordable. They have done some nice upgrades to the pro shop and now have GPS on the carts. Pay attention and avoid getting too close to the greens or tee boxes with the cart. It will shut down and you will have to wait a few minutes for it to reset and allow you to move to an unrestricted area.
Course Conditions and Price
The course layout is fun and challenging. Most of the greens are in decent shape, but not maintained enough to rid the greens of weeds. Some putts are tricky then others because your line is going to run over a patch of weeds. Its really unfair to the golfer when you can set yourself up nicely for a birdie. The tee boxes on the front nine are great, however those on the back nine are absolute trash. There is no bent grass, whatsoever. The tees are crab grass and that alone. I've played there twice, but wont be coming back because of course maintenance. Pre-emergent needs to be sprayed and they need to put better care on the tees, especially the greens. Your game could be easily inconsistent because of it.
If you get a tee time that is past 9am, you will be dealing with gnats on greens bugging you. Its pretty gross and annoying. I understand that is the area and there isn't anything that can be done, not to my knowledge, but its a con.
For $40 you get what you pay for and being it is inexpensive, I will take that, however, until you swap out to ride the motorcycle carts you end up paying a lot more plus a walking fee.
What I spent the second time around, but different than what GolfNow has on the app ($22 for 18). Maple Run has on their website is $30 for 18 and $22 for 9 plus a $10 cart fee.\
I spent:
$30 - greens fee
$22.26 - motorcycle cart/walking fee
This is odd pricing and I think they should just charge just the moto fee. What really annoyed me the most is that the person I spoke the day before said it would only be $12 more after the $22 - that said those working at the pro shop don't even know their own rates. I really don't know why GolfNow said $22, but the shop charged $30. We only ever play 18, so it wasn't even a filter to see the 9-hole pricing.
Back 9 is very nice
Grass is weeds on fairways as well as tee boxes. Disappointing given the price to play. Love the babbling brooks on the back 9 carts are very jumpy and don’t seem to run well.
Great value
I'm pretty good shape, save for a couple greens that might've been scorched by the crazy heat lately.
