Maple Run Golf Course

First time playing this course in a perfect Wednesday noon. Finished in 3.5 hours. Layout is okay. Course very dry and runs and bounces a lot. Small firm and undulating greens are the bright spot. Fairway barely acceptable, but rough is spotty at best if not bare. The worst is tee box, weed infested and hard as rock. Maybe the condition is better than before as some suggested, but it still has a long ways to go.

The course layout is challenging with nicely placed natural hazards amidst a lovely natural environment. We saw some deers on the fairways. The fairways are decently maintained and the ball runs a lot. The greens are fast and tricky. One needs to make sure you don’t land directly on the green, if you are not a master of spin, as the ball goes across to the rough on the opposite side very easily!! The cart paths need resurfacing, which I guess will be next on the list of improvements. While there are many choices of beverages to take on the course, after playing, I would have liked some eating choices as well other than a hotdog. The staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. Overall, I loved the course and it’s accessibility. I will definitely play there more often.

Under new ownership, this course is in great condition. The staff and owner are very friendly. New additions and clean up to the course since new ownership took over.

Really liked the course but it could definitely use some small improvements. Gotta be careful where you park as there’s a par 3 18th hole that leads right at the lot haha.

Maple Run is an up and coming course, established but currently being improved by new owners! It was a beautiful course, the staff is super friendly and the course is perfect for all skill levels! Thoroughly enjoyed our day!

The fairways and greens were great. The cart paths were showing their age and our golf cart had some steering issues. It didn't disrupt a wonderful outing though. I will keep them on my list of courses to play.

Close drive for me. The new owners are really getting the course looking good.

I visited the course mid July, course was nice but the staff was dishonest. I left my range finder at the course after my round and I called the same day and the person on the said it was turn in and they would hold it for me. I returned 2 days later and the range finder was nowhere to be found. The man at the check in desk said he saw it the day before and even the lady from the snack bar said they were play with it the day before. They gave me the new owner's name, I think it was Mark. I called multiple times asking for him but he dodged my calls. I asked if they could review the camera footage but they did not give me any response. I feel they had the range finder and when I came back for it. All the sudden it disappeared. I left my information with them multiple times and I never received a call back or an apology. This was very disappointing.

We hade a 4some on Friday. Pace was very good completed in 4 hours. The course was in pretty good condition giving this years drought and their limited irrigation. Tee boxes and greens were both well cared for. The facility is looking great with changes to the inside and out. Snack bar at the turn is great with very reasonable prices. Bravo to the new ownership. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back this fall. We sat outside after our round to enjoy a beer and a dog.

My son and I had a great time playing. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Course is well maintained. Can’t wait to play here again!

Been a Thurmont resident for awhile now. Played Maple a lot over the years.. so let me tell you that this new ownership group cares about the course. Far and away waaay better than it was just a year ago. And they’re still planning on upgrading more. For the price, you can’t beat it.

This course is my favorite in the area, price has remained incredibly fair, and they are constantly upgrading and improving. Love this course and highly recommend to anyone. Bar selection is great, hot dog is great, and friendly staff. Beautiful views as well. Love maple run!
