Don't bother putting
This is a fun course but the greens need much repair. Weeds and brown spots all over, ball redirects and bounces due to unkept greens.
Terrible shape
Dead greens, lost balls in the 3” fairway. If they get some maint staff it could be nice. Until then, I’d stay away.
Conditions
Fairways and tee boxes were not mowed. Greens have not changed in several months, and are mostly unplayable.
Rain is partly to blame for some comments.
Course needs maintenance
I played this course a year ago, and it was in excellent condition. Unfortunately, this time, the tee boxes and greens were in noticeably poor shape. I really hope the course can return to the high standards it had last year.
Wasted potential
This was one of the nicer short courses I. The area up through the end of last year. Layout is still great but no maintenance of the greens and several are bare apart from a few patches of grass that shouldn’t be there. Very sad to see a course neglected like this.
Always a pleasure
Easy to book T Time and very warm and courteous staff !! Love the course GPS monitor in the golf cart. Love the course and the greens are improving. Always have a fun time at Willow Springs !!!
Only suggestion is to get new ball cleaner towels and add fresh water to cleaners.
Thanks !!!
One of the best
Love me some Willow Springs !! Fun course with plenty of quirks !! Is it perfect ? No but what is ? Staff is friendly and courteous. Love the carts with the course map gps. Always a smooth pace never feel rushed !!
Good Times
Always having fun at Willow Springs !!! Staff is friendly and easy to reserve and check in. Greens little rough but still a blast to play. Will be back next week. Thank you.
How gone to crap
Not maintained. Greens aren’t greens at all. Impossible to putt. The staff should be embarrassed to work at a course that is so badly kept. Course is overgrown. Tee boxes are nothing but crab grass. Course needs a complete makeover. Entire staff should be removed and bring in all new staff and management. Golf pro should be ashamed of himself. Needs to be fired. This place use to be so good. Now it’s completely horrible. My group paid for 18 holes. We left after 9 holes. The group ahead of us did the same thing. Wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone.
Short course
Greens are in terrible shape, dry July and August- I can understand, but why are weeds growing in sand traps?
Solid
Solid deal for the money. I understand the greens are being worked on.
Course is in rough shape
We had beautiful weather and enjoyed our day playing 18 holes at Willow Springs. It was our first time. Included myself, husband and two sons (15 and 16). Carts were included and we got a hot deal for pricing. We are not professional golfers and didn’t mind the course conditions. But if you golf frequently or are used to perfectly or even moderately manacured course, this course is not for you! Also there were tons of lantern flies but they didn’t impact play we just aren’t used to seeing so many flying around.
Greens were terrible, full of crabgrass, pretty much to only grass. My score would have been much better if those green weren't bald and bumpy. Probably won't be back at any price. Now we know it why it was so cheap.
Needs a lot of TLC
This course has never been a gem, but the greens have become absolutely destroyed. Half of thr greens are a patchwork of dirt and crabgrass that make the short game an unpredictable nightmare. Until they fix the greens, the course should not charge more than $25 dollars for a round. The staff is very friendly, and I will play there again when there is a good hot deal, but otherwise they need to start caring for the course again.
I have never seen greens or bunkers in worse condition. I have been playing this course for over 15+ years and to watch it just deteriorate is so sad. The only way I play here anymore is via a “hot deal” on these golf apps as their normal rate is absolutely outrageous for an executive course. Ever since it was sold and new owners took over, it truly has gone so far downhill. So so so sad.
