Willow Springs Golf Course

They warned the greens were under repair but that was a HUGE understatement as whole course was not maintained...bunkers were overgrowing with tons of weeds, tee boxes were like heavy rough, and greens were worst I've ever seen...couldn't even putt on them...horrible overall and won't go back.

It’s never been great but wow, it somehow got so much worse. Tee boxes were a mess, ‘fairways’ were too long, and I’ve never seen greens this bad. The whole course is essentially unplayable. The range is hanging on by a thread too. You’re not getting a discount here, you’re wasting money.

I have been a regular customer at Willow Springs for years and the course yesterday was in as bad of condition as any course I’ve seen in the area. My friends and I have always loved booking rounds at Willow because historically it was the best bang for your buck course in Howard county. In summer 2024 the prices have continued to climb, but the course condition is terrible, the tee boxes are horrid and the greens are literally the worst you can imagine. I would not recommend playing at Willow Springs to my worst enemy. The course is lacking any real business plan or vision. The tee times are overbooked and the clubhouse is always a mess. It would take only minimal effort from ownership to fix these problems, but that would require actually caring about the community and the service being offered.

The was in very bad shape. Lots of weeds on the course including greens and fairway. About 50 of the greens were down to bare soil and so many weeds it was very difficult to putt.

The course was very nice in the past but now it should only cost $5 - $10 to play, cart included.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of playing at this golf course, and I must say it was a major disappointment.

The greens were practically non-existent, with dead grass everywhere, making it impossible to putt properly. The fairways were not manicured, with patches of uneven grass and dirt, adding to the frustration. Several areas of the course were severely overgrown, showing a clear lack of maintenance.

Overall, the conditions were incredibly poor, and I would not recommend anyone play here. Save your time and money and find a course that actually takes care of its grounds.

The greens weren’t cut, there’s weeds, and parts on the green with no grass! It looks as if it just went through a harsh winter. It was like putting on an unpaved road.

Compared to other courses, this is very reasonable tee fees but the course needs a lot work especially the putting green surfaces.

The layout of the holes are not bad and few holes with great fairways.

Price matches to the condition of the course. Very friendly staff.

The staff is always friendly. That being said the course was TERRIBLE!!! The greens were cracked, dry, overgrown. The sand traps were filled with weeds. I’ve played this course for 20 years and this was the worst condition it has even been in.

The course used to be a decent option for beginners, but it has really gone downhill. The layout is short, which is fine for newer golfers, but the conditions are awful now. The greens aren’t even green anymore—they’re literally brown, and the sand traps are so neglected that weeds are growing out of them. It’s cheap, but honestly, it feels more like playing backyard golf on a big piece of land than a proper course.

I started playing this course 30 years ago when I was just learning the game. Last played it 4 years ago and it was in good shape. Not sure what is going on but I hear it has new ownership. They updated the golf carts with gps and alarms to keep you on the cart paths. Greens were burned out and mostly dirt with crab grass clumps. Sand traps were full of weeds. We should have gone back after the first hole and requested a refund but we were there and hoped it would improve. I really hope the course is fixed as I do not know how it will survive if not.

I took a client out to this course in hopes of landing a deal, let’s just say I’d be out of business if I made this a regular occurrence. Very poor course maintenance

The greens were a mix of burned brown turf and crab grass. It's been a while since I played here and it's gone downhill. The staff was nice, but the course was terrible. We paid $46 pp, but they shouldn't charge more than $20. Good for kids just learning but that's it.

Two or three (of 18) greens were decent enough to be called greens; spots of dead grass, no grass and weeds mixed in.
