Willow Springs Golf Course

I had not played Willow Springs for several years. Decided to play with my grandsonwho is just learning the game but enjoys going out to play. The course conditions have significantly deteriorated as I remember years ago. Huge bare spots and various coarse types of grass on the greens. Putting was an adventure. Bunkers had little sand and lots of weeds and grasses of various types; no effort to manage the bunkers or to rake the " sand/ dirt". Teeboxes were variable showing lots of use and unmowed grass and clover pastures. Pace of play was good price was tright and my one periencedgrandson did.not complain about the poor conditions. Not sure why any experienced golfer would play this course.

Not going to say it is amazing. Not going to say it was horrible but it is just what I needed to get my swing back before the tourney we have this weekend. Fun great pace and also played with a great random guy. Wouldn’t recommend to high end players but the avg joe and wanna go have fun go at it.

Willow Springs course was in the worst shape I've ever seen it. Greens were unputtable, sand traps were fully grown out and not maintained, fallen trees were on the course, etc. Not worth playing this course at this price for such poor quality.

The tee boxes were not mowed low enough. The fairways also had rather tall grass for fairways.

The tee box grass was taller than my tee when I went. I lost multiple balls in the middle of their overgrown fairway. If they kept the grass cut it would be a major improvement

I've played this course many times in the past, however not since last year. I was surprised how bad the conditions were playing for the first time this year (2024). The T-boxes were beat up, the Greens had many bare dirt spots, and the bunkers were full of weeds in hard dirt (no sand). The snack bar was limited in choice and disappointing as well. Overall, I'll be looking for another go-to spot with my buddy as the course has basically went to the dogs. I'm not sure what happened, however there appears to be a severe shortage on maintenance and funding in 2024.

I haven’t played at Willow Springs since early 2023 but when I played on 6/7/24 I was astounded at how the owner has allowed the course to deteriorate. The greens are in the worst condition I have ever seen them. On multiple greens there were weeds and even unmowed clover growing. Most disturbing, however, was the total lack of maintenance of the bunkers. The bunkers are completely unplayable because they are covered in 2 to 3 foot weeds. Simply unbelievable!

The fairways were deep.so deep that I lost 3 goofballs that were hit in the middle of the fairways.

The rough was also deep. Definitely want to keep it in the fairway. The rough was narrow on both sides, bordered with grass that was about 18 inches deep.

The greens, not all, but a significant number of them, had dead grass on parts of the green.

At $25 for 9 holes, I would have thought the course would have been better cared for.

Fairways and greens are terrible. Worst shape of any I’ve ever played.

Although it has been a while since I played Willow Springs, the course was in rough shape (I do not recall it being this bad). The edges of the fairways were like a hayfield (many lost balls), the sand traps were full of 12-18” weeds, and the greens were rough.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend playing this course.

Every green was unkempt, weeds and bumpy surface. Down tree on fairway, and rough was way to high.
