Great conditions
Fast greens no burnt out fairways last played here when it was called Bear Creek much improved will play again next year worth the hour drive from pa.
Westminster National GC
Awesome golf course. Felt like I was playing a mountain course. Conditions good, greens rolled smooth at medium speed. Some holes appear tight off the tee and others wide open, very scenic. Played in about 3 hours taking some practice shots and putts since course was not crowded today. Definite recommend. I could see some very slow play if the course is crowded since many of the holes can be tricky. First two par threes holes 2 & 5 are great!
Target Golf
Use the driver sparingly even it you hit it straight it can end up in trouble (through the fairway). Entertaining, target golf with a lot of elevation changes and relatively small greens. This course would be quite difficult to walk...so I recommend getting a cart. Many of the greens are crowned but you'll be hitting wedges into them a lot and they were putting pretty true.
This course has a great layout
I have played this course before. The front nine holes is a little more challenging than the back nine. The course is a little hilly on some holes. This day the greens were already aerated. Putting was a little more challenging coasting some strokes. Overall for the cost, I had a great experience and definitely will play this course again. When making the turn the snack bar is located at a convenient location minimizing the time off the course and the pace of play was great. I would recommend this course to every golfer.
very hilly. good thing they had signs pointing to tee boxes
nice challenging course. unfortunately played shortly after aeration. greens had a lot of sand and aeration holes were large.
Little bit of heaven !
We took a chance a few months back seeing roadside sign. Loved it ! Went back to meet my brother. Most friendly staff ever. Unfortunately it poured on us both times but we waited and it cleared. Very challenging.
National haha
Good marketing tool using the National name. Not anywhere close to Maryland National. You got me.. Good for starters and family. But if your a golfer that loves and appreciates nice courses, this isn't it. Needs some maintenance, tee boxes, better sand. Can't go wrong for price, but again with Maryland National near by, I assumed it would be a sister course.
Very challenging
COURSE will test your game. Well maintained and unforgiving, make athem mistake n miss the green you will pay:-). Enjoyed game. But be prepared to put your game face on. Great value for the money.
Good Value
Very friendly people. Pace was good for a weekday. Curse was in very good shape. Takes a while to get there, but certainly worth it.
Great Experience
This is a beautiful course. I pulled in and just from the looks I was a little intemidated. I went in and played 28 holes, had a great time, and was very pleased with the friendliness of the staff and other patrons. I Attempted to play again this last week but the rain stopped me. I called the club house a couple times and they were very welcoming! Class act! I'll be back!
not for novice players
Teeing off blind, lots of elevation change and very tight greens make this a pretty difficult course.
Basic golf
Basic golf! I was a little disappointed in the green especially after all of the rain and snow this winter. They are difficult with tons of mounding. Some severe elevation changes which were challenging. Short course, the back tee boxes are a little rough; hard to find level stance on a few. Good local course but not worth over a long drive to play. Quail Valley a much better option.
Nice course
The course was in very nice condition, and the staff was very friendly. Would definitely go back.
Interesting and challenging
Starter was extremely helpful and courteous. Set me up other player to help me with layout. Some real great hole designs and good use of terrain. Would be good course to play regularly. If you're in the area it is a must play.
Interesting layout
Westminster National is all about elevation change and includes down-hill, uphill, and side-hill holes. There is a mix of parkland and links style holes and water is in play on some of them. The course is not overly long but requires attention to course management and shot placement. This is definitely not a walking course. The only quirk of the course is that in the center of the property, a number of holes come together, forcing cart paths to intersect, and this makes for an awkward design. Since the course is not intuitive, it would help if the scorecard had a course layout on it. Bottom line- a fun place to play if you don't mind some blind shots.
Many hills but beautiful course, farm land
The staff was great during check in, the greens were tight and fast, pace of play was little slow with grouping of 4 in front of me, but I joined with two young golfers and stilled finished in 4 and half hours. I recommend this course for the price and the views. Have some extra balls if it is your first time playing this course or stay in the fairway. Hit them straight.
Course in Great Shape!
Played on a cold and windy day.
The course and greens were in great shape.
Greens were fast and had true rolls.
Great course
This was a very nice but tough course to play. The greens are difficult and most are like a hump so your ball rolls off most of the time.
Great Deal for Beginners
I'm just getting into golf and decided to go out and play with some friends who are significantly better than me. It was only the second time I've played a full 18 holes, but I would call the course conditions average. For under $20 a person, however, it's a steal. For me, course difficulty doesn't really affect my score (since I'm shooting over 100 anyway), but my friends were commenting on how the course was short compared to what they've played. I would definitely recommend for a quick round or for any beginner who wants to improve their game.
