Acushnet River Valley Golf Course

First time playing and enjoyed my round. Course is in good condition, the round moved along, good layout. COVID restrictions still in place. No clubhouse facilities except rest rooms. Had a bad cart, starter wouldn't allow a change. Overall a good course, I will return.

Teed off at 9:30 and it took just over 5 hours to play the round. There is no course ranger to enforce the pace of play. Keep it moving for everyone!

I have played this course several times, the layout is quite nice and fun to play and the course is maintained in very good conditions for a municipally run course. However, I booked a round directly on the clubs website, and received an emailed confirmation including the price. Upon arriving at the course the clubhouse staff member collecting the green fees said the rate was wrong and that I would need to pay a higher price to play. He said the clubs booking engine is GolfNow and it was their mistake so I would need to take it up with them, but if I wanted to play I would need to pay the higher rate. This despite being shown the course generated confirmation showing my tee time and price. He was quite nasty in dealing with what was a course issue. It being a beautiful day I paid the higher amount. If it was the only issue I would not have written this review, however teeing off before 8.00 am, the tee was backed up by 15 minutes. We waited on EVERY tee box - all 18, including a 20 minute delay at the turn. There were always 3 groups on every hole and often 4. A course ranger was visible several times, however said nothing and was likely just out to monitor whether the afternoon shotgun outing would be able to go out on time. As much as I enjoy playing this course I will think twice before returning.

I play here a couple times a month and you can’t beat the price after 2pm. Few negatives are pace of play can sometimes be rough at that time and personally wish the greens were cut shorter. Don’t roll very pure and are slow. But overall I love acushnet it’s a great layout and beautiful course.

Played the Acushnet River Golf Course today. It is a fine layout and kept in good condition , especially with all of the rain we have had lately. The pace of play was a little slow, as we had to wait on every tee for the foursomes in front of us, and we teed off at 6:45am.

Excellent course. It is in fantastic condition and reasonably priced. I’ve played here consistently over the last 3 years.

course in nice shape,greens roll well,but a little slow,good value for $42. finished at 4:30 pm and food was closed!

My only gripe has been pace of play. It has improved thanks to wider starting times. I also wld have no problem w a Ranger pushing slower play and if more than 1 empty hole in front of them, players have to skip a hole and be driven to the next hole by that Ranger.

Really enjoyed playing here, a fair and challenging golf course with nice greens. Was in great shape. I’ll be back for sure to try a different set of tees. The pro shop was essentially a payment window.

This was my first trip to this course and I’m hooked. It’s in impeccable condition and is very reasonably priced.

Overall course was in great shape with the exception of the greens being slow. I know with all the rain we have had that it's tough to keep greens cut, but other courses I've played have managed to do so. Can't beat the value of this course though. Fun layout

We had a 1:30 tee time foursome and felt a little slighted at the end. We were reminded graciously reminded by the starter a couple of times that we had to complete the turn by 3:50 as leagues were going off at 4pm on both sides. We arrived about 3:55 and 10th tee was backed up with another group followed by leaguers ready to go. We decided it was not going to happen and rather then delay the league, called it a day. My guest from Portland, OR a real gracious gent and never complains, felt slighted as I did paying for 18 holes and also feeling the course was excellent in all categories however overbooked or tightly scheduled to accommodate. I will always return as enjoy all aspects of the course and its staff. Hopefully my guest Mark will also. Know your doing your best. Thanks.

I played this course from the whites, blues and tips. Each game was amazingly different. The golfers that play this course are all good and casual.

Love this course. Always in good shape with a good pace. Not extremely long but there's some tricky holes. Love the layout too - the first 10-11 holes play like a traditional course and the last 8 play like a links course. Just always a good time with friends at great value.
