Acushnet River Valley Golf Course

Really glad this course is now on Golf Now. I love the mix that this course offers. The front 1-11 you are tucked away in the pines and oaks offering challenge to stay on the fairways. Holes 12-16 open up to a lynx style. On this the day pace was super quick practically had the course to ourselves. Had a great round and can't wait to go back and play again.

Staff was great. My wife and I are from Tampa and needed to escape the nastiness of Hurricane Irma. Perfect weather on a well groomed course. Unfortunately, the pace of play was extremely slow. Took us over 5 hours to complete 18 holes. It NEVER takes us this long to play 18. Walkers ahead of us slowed everyone down. Course was well maintained. Next time I play will be during the week, not on a weekend.

Great layout thru the trees thru first 9, then wider open links layout on the back. Only minor thing we noticed is that greens are a bit slow compared to most other good local courses. Staff is great and pace of play was great.

I've played Acushnet River Valley many, many times over the years. This was my first time thru GolfNow and the first time in many months. The course was in its usual good condition. The greens were probably an 8 or 9 on the stimpmeter. The fairways and roughs were well groomed and of proper length. The traps were well-maintained with reasonable sand depth. The pace of play was much slower than usual for a weekday. We waited on most tees. There were 4 groups on the par 5 3rd hole, two of whom were twosomes. They had launched a shotgun outing earlier in the day which may have been a factor. I'm not sure what happened but I ended up playing with 3 people who did not use GolfNow to sign up for a tee time. I didn't think that could happen. I was sent out about 15 minutes early.

Today was my first time playing at Acushnet. Over the past week or so, we've experienced that (un)usual New England weather. So the course was a bit wet at certain areas of certain holes, but it was not horrible by any means. ONLY reason why I put 4stars for "course conditions". Had it been a dry day, it would probably be 5.

The tee boxes were very clean and manicured (as far as divots, etc..). The fairways were in excellent condition; definitely some of the better fairways I've played on outside of the Myrtle Beach area. The greens were immaculate, albeit early in the NE golf season. Even the bunkers were well manicured.

My favorite part of the course was the back-9... Open links styled. It was awesome. All the staff and golfers I interacted with were very pleasant. I will definitely be back; hopefully at least twice a month.

I highly recommend to anyone in the area or anyone thinking of visiting the area.

My favorite local course for the price. For a municipal course it is in great shape. Great layout that offers a lot of variety. Greens are well cared for, albeit a bit slow. Staff is very friendly. Great range, with a beautifully manicure grass tee area. Best part of this course are the twilight rates offered. $37 with a cart ! They also offer $37 all day play during the late fall/earl spring seasons. There's no clubhouse..but there's a big tent to sit under for a hot dog or beer. Love this course

Turf conditioning is always excellent, fairways are fair, roughs are rough and greens roll true, though the can be shaggy sometimes. Bunker maintenance is improving. Range is nice, but like most, the grass tees are never open. Amenities not so hot, but it's muni and we're here for the golf, right?

The course is very nice and a great value if you go in the afternoon. In the morning it is kind of expensive and not a great value.
