Aerated and holes not healed/filled
Course overall was in good shape, but greens that were supposed to have been punched 2 weeks prior we’re not yet healed or filled. Aside from bumpy putts the course is still challenging especially in the wind.
Great value
Imagine my surprise when I was told that the cost to walk 18 holes for a senior (which I am) was only $34! That’s an outstanding value for a nice course! My foursome finished in 4 hours and ten minutes which is quite good for /8 holes. The rangers were on top of things all the way along. I’ll be playing there again definitely
Always dependable!
I never go wrong playing Olde Scotland Links. The only issue today was that the greens are still recovering from being punched. That information was given up front at the time of booking. The course was in great shape otherwise even though we have had a lot of rain.
Great value, fun layout
Overall the facilities are a bit plain, the parking lot for instance is gravel, however the bar and patio are great for a post-round beer and there are also food options.
As for the course, there are four tee boxes and if you like it long, you can get it. The fairways are forgiving and not a lot of water or OB but if you are playing sloppy you can lose a few balls. The greens were aerated a couple of week before our round today and as such were not good, however I have played here before and they are typically very good. They are pretty large but offer breaks and ridges to test the putter. Prices are reasonable and I would recommend it to all.
Great layout
Played here for the first time and I'll be back. Course was in very good shape, greens had been recently aerated but that happens everywhere. Fairways excellent, and the course is challenging but fun.
just love to play here
ths course is nice to play and a all time favorite.
Always a good course
Great layout. Fairways are mostly generous. Always look forward to playing this course. HOWEVER, we were NOT warned that the greens were recently aerated. There was sand and holes on every green but the plugs were not filled and the greens were not swept. It greatly detracted from the experience. Would I go again? Yes, but I will directly ask about the greens.
Interesting course with challenging greens
I have played Old Scotland several times so far this year and I have always enjoyed it. One of very few facilities in the greater Boston area that is open year round. Well maintained, with greens recently aereated (late April) which can be frustrating when that four-foot put just won‘t go in. Fairways are wide and forgiving, whereas the greens can be quite challenging with plenty of slopes and bunkers or water hazards nearby. Club house is quite nice and has a bar and outdoor seating. Good value for money and cart is recommended if you are going to play 18 holes.
Always Wonderful
Play here fairly regularly and always walk and carry. The course is challenging but it's all in front of you. No tricks, or fake course setups to make it harder. Holds water well and is always in great shape. The people who work the course, starters and pro shop are all very friendly.
