Risk Reward Hole
The seventh hole at Olde Scotland is another interesting architect hole. It plays 348-378 yards long, not a long par 4, but.... The tee shot is a crucial decision. It's a sharp dogleg right with a landing area left of the tees. That's the safe, conservative, longer way If you can still hit it, you can carry brush and a long bunker if you drive the right side. If you do carry the trouble you have a short iron into the green. Be careful not to go through the fairway if you choose the left side route. Good luck on this great hole. .
Always a great walking course.
Plays like a links type course in many ways. A fair and honest test for the average golfer. Multiple tees ensures everyone has chance to score decently and have fun. The greens are consistent and roll true. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Not a course you can bludgeon. Have to choose wisely.
Flew through
Staff worked through a problem with GOLF NOW not sending reservation...other two golfers matched up with had same problem...so GOLF NOW-GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!!
Course was just amazing considering the drought we are in...soon to be remedied in part with some rain from TS ISAIAH...
Great place to play...
Never disappoints
The course is always in great shape and has a great variety of holes including some risk reward holes. they have let the fescue grow in some leading to some difficult shots and pleasing looks. Pace of play was excellent
Tricky Layout for First Timer
Course is fine condition but the person selecting the hole locations must be drunk. Many holes are placed on edge of greens less than 2-3 yards from fringe. I like the long par 5s. A few holes require shot selection to avoid hidden hazards. This course a little overboard with COVID-19 restrictions as you can't go to first hole and putting Green until 10 minutes before your tee time. Not much time to warm up before tee off.
Love This Place
Reviewed it many times. You'll love it too. The 12th hole is the signature hole of the course. Left leaning par 5 plays 455=555. You have to get off the tee here and favor the left side of the fairway. Bunkers and mounds on the right will blow the scorecard up if you go there. Unless you crushed it off the tee and crush it again to get to the green you need to play the second shot down to a landing area corner away from the big bunkers. The scoring shot is over two small bunkers to a green with a lot of character. Don't be short and long is dead. Another great hole on Olde Scotland, good luck with this one !!!
Town Run-You'd Never Know It
Town of Bridgewater maintains this course to a far higher level than most municipal courses. Everything is real nice. Links style course from Brian Silva has several real architect holes. The ninth is a straight away par 5, 396 to 476 front to back. Almost all the tee shots have to be in the fairway on this course. Trouble is to the right off the tee here and a bad second can find what little water should come into play. The approach shot is where this hole is interesting. You must carry some high reeds and brush to a well guarded green. False front feeds down to the brush. Stay below the hole. Three to the left side fringe, fast downhill putt, two coming back for six !!! Great place. Play it.
Great Course !!
Course in great shape !!! Seems rough is getting tougher. Fun, fair course. Always a challenge. Love it !!
Cool course
Loved the course. Fun layout. Range was disappointing and I get no rakes in bunkers but at least maintain them.
Great course for all levels
As a Bridgewater resident I love having this course near my home. Definitely my favorite local public course around
Nice course...food service excellent...Rangers and pro shop staff blow
What is it with these "municipal" courses?...the Covid situation has made them forget that golf is a game played by people who expect to be welcomed to their facility...hostile, unhelpful, and treating you like an "interloper" ...the course is a fair test, in good shape...but I won't go back
Friendly staff! , well groomed., very nice course..
Exceptional course
Great course to play. In excellent condition with fast and true greens. Good walking course.
Old Scotty is always in decent shape. Greens were a little fast. Starter was friendly, however you are not supposed to take a cart to your car first, ooops. Pace of play was great, 4 some we played in under 4 hours. Golf now for $42 is a steal!
