Great day to be playing golf in March
Course was in good shape especially for March. Starter was great. Gal in the pro shop took an attitude saying her system said I booked for 1 not 2 but I had a confirmation for 2. They should clean that up. Good value for a mid winter walk on the course. Great weather
Truth in advertising
The course is nice and pretty well kept. Starter was a great guy. Issue is they will consistently offer a cart as part of a deal, not allow carts on a course that has paths everywhere and then charge you for a pull cart. This has now happened a couple of times. I will avoid this course because I want to get what I am expecting when I arrive at the course.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Great Value
You can’t beat Old Scotland for value, course conditions , pace of play and staff.
Good condition for February
Course was in good shape who would thought we would be playing in 42 degree weather in the middle of February. Great value for the price. The course did supply a pull cart after the motorized ones were not allowed.
Winter golf
Nice day to play especially being winter in New England. Course was in good shape.
Great Experience
Great hot deal at OSL. Course is in great shape for November. Lots of variety to keep it interesting. Only complaint is there are way too many ball marks on the greens. I was fixing three on every hole. Come on people, fix your ball marks!
Always a good experience
If I were to have a "home course," it'd probably be Olde Scotland. The course opened in 1997, and I started playing there in like 2004. For a municipal course, it's generally always in top-notch shape. The course gets a lot -- A LOT -- of play, so there are times where the fairways are a bit beat up. They also generally stay open during the winter, as long as there's now snow on the ground. There's good and bad to that -- nice to have a winter option, but the course can sometimes just use the rest. Overall though, tee boxes are always well kept, and greens run true and are generally pretty quick. My biggest complaint over the years is that the rates have gone up pretty dramatically -- it's $48 now to walk during peak season, a number you'd be more used to seeing at a semi private kind of club. And even though they are busy, you can generally find tee times midday -- seems lots of folks skip the heat of the day.
Wonderful Public Course
I play 50-60 rounds per year on mostly public courses. Olde Scotland is a nice public course with a very good variety of par 3's ,4's and 5's. Condition is usually good to very good , a bit expensive I believe but they didn't waste money on a big clubhouse and staff is friendly.
Fun Course
We played Old Scotland after a few rainy days and the course was still in good shape. It’s a fun track that makes you think a little harder choosing your club for your first and second shots. I will definitely play again soon!
Great Layout
Course was in fantastic shape....greens roll true... generous fairways...this is a must play...thanks!!
Great course!
Fun layout and great conditions. Hit your numbers off the tee and focus on your short game. A few driveable par 4’s have you licking your lips!
Good course for all skill levels
The course is in good shape except for a few tees. Greens. Where in good shape. The only major complaint I would have is some of the pin placements where absolutely ridiculous. Some holes where cut a few feet from the pin impossible to shoot at or placed on top or bottom of a steep slope some of the putts where impossible to get close.
Worth the Drive
The 9 and 18th holes will challenge any recreational golfer...the greens were soft(soft greens= faster play based on the number of divots my group worked on as we played)...fariways and rough were in good shape...all in all a good day...the pin placements may be more relevant to all since they can be in some pretty interesting places...but that is the risk/reward for that approach shot...well worth the drive from most anywhere, and being a public course, it is in fine shape(as close as one can get to a private CC that one can expect with the sheer volume of play)...
Olde Scotland
One of my favorites in the Fall River area. Great layout. A must play.
Best condition in years
This course is a must for people who like challanges , you will need to keep the ball in play to score well, you really need to play smart in most cases I do but when i am not play well its ok no guts no glory. the staff is about the best you can get from the pro shop to the starter to tha rangers they care about the course and I can tell you when my wife & I play we generally ride the rough just so the fairways stay nice.
Its always nice to play at this course.

mixed feelings
ok, so i played there on the cheap, which made it well worth it. Staff was awesome, greens are nice, and the course has a great mix of some easy, moderate and hard holes (pack some extra balls for the hard holes). However, most of the tee boxes and some of the fairways were in poor condition. for that reason, i find the normal in season rates a bit much
Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and follow up with the team so that they can make changes to tee boxes and fairways. We hope to see you back!
