Course is reliable and fun, starter/ranger need training
Play trhis course 7-10x/year. Great layout, changes up after hole 10. Greens always in good condition. T times usually available when other area courses are impossible to book during weekend. However our experience on this visit was not great. 620a t time, we checked in at 605 and arrived at first tee by 610. The starter on the first tee informed us he sent off the 610a group early and that we would probably not catch them. Hit our first ball at 620 on the nose, but on the 4th green, ranger rolled up and aggressively ahouted at us that we needed to pick up the pace because the 2 holes in front of us were open. We track time on our phones for rounds to ensure we have good pace of plant, showed ranger we were on 4th green after 40 mins of play (ahead of course pace of 15mins per hole), and explained the group in front was sent early, which gives the impression that we were not keeping pace. Ranger insisted that we were playing too slow and needed to pick up and move up TWO holes. We refused and continued our round after a very negative interaction. There was a woman in our group, so maybe he had the perception this made us slow. Regardless, it negatively impacted our mood and round. We shared our experience with the pro shop manager who was sympathetic but offered little more than a slight apology.
Unfortunately this is more common than not on south shore public courses and we will likely not return here. Too bad, as this course has a a fun layout. Had we been treated respectfully and more like paying customers, this could have resolved by a simple conversation . Very frustrating experience. Olde Scotland, you should try to do better.
Course is a great layout, especially for all types of handicappers . I would recommend this course to anyone. The staff was great from checking in. To the starters, friendly and noticeable on the course .. 5 stars
Great Public Golf Course. Would play again anytime.
A couple of holes require a bit of knowledge on where to play your first shot. Even a sign on the tee with yardage showing distance to the hazards would help. No on-course drinking water is a problem. Please on a hot day out out a couple of water jugs to help the players.
Great track
we love to play Olde Scotland Links it's fair but has its challenging holes. pace of play 4:15 was better than they told us it would be .5:30
Fun, once in a while. Past time to bring back water.
The wide open layout is fun occasionally, just cuz it’s different. No excuse for failure to bring back water containers. Ridiculous that COVID becomes permanent excuse not to provide water.
Hello, u000001663647. Thank you for leaving us a review. We are sorry to hear your experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you will give us another try in the future. Thank you for choosing Olde Scotland Links at Bridgewater.
Post COVID
We’ve been playing the course for several years. The starter is great, very friendly. What would it take to get drinking water back on the course? I like that you’re making improvements, for example, paving the parking lot, but really how much time, effort and cost would it be to put water jugs iand cups back out there like it was pre-Covid. Thank you.
Great links course
Course is in great condition. Greens are challenging.
