Great Course
I like that this private course allows the public to play when there are tee times available for a reasonable price.
Nice course
Overall a nice course but not that many memorable holes. Condition quite good.
Restaurant closed, Pro shop a bit bare-bones and not that many options, lot of leaves everywhere and could have been cleaned in areas where typical balls land after a drive off the tee.
Course Conditions
Greens 10/10
Fairways 7/10 - wet in many spots
Tee boxes 8/10
Halifax
course in great condition just delayed due to frost
Golfnow needs to be in communication with the Course
Everyone knows eastern Massachusetts got hit hard with a nor’easter earlier in the week, Tuesday night to be exact. Here it is the following Sunday… i booked a 1:00pm tee time for Halifax CC. Golfnow did not state the course only had 9 holes open, golfnow charged me for a full 18 hole rate. So after the kid at the proshop tells us 9 holes only we bite the bullet and go play. The course Should Not of even been open. The first 3 holes were under water. Maintenance did not blow off any fairways. The place was a disaster. Dont open the place if its not ready for play. I played Atlantic CC on Thursday of the same week. Two days after the storm… not even a comparison of how much better of a cleanup Atlantic did over Halifax.
Dont open the course and charge top dollar if your fairways are under water. And state your only allowing people to play the front 9. I feel like the course and golfnow should state something on the app. Verry disappointed i wastedmy time on a Sunday afternoon. Flat out Terrible conditionss.
A Long Afternoon
Pace of play slow but it was Saturday afternoon. Greens are excellent. Very good layout.
First time
Challenging, course wet from previously heavy rains, enjoyed the variety of hole layouts and having to make specific shot selections.
Great day
The course was in great shape pace of play was great.
Best Public Golf In This Part of Massachusetts
Always GREAT condition -- tees / fairways and best greens. Perfectly smooth and fast surfaces .... you're ball rolls better than anywhere else. Tremendous design and plenty of room to hit the tee shot even with most holes being beautifully tree lined.
Fun course
It's true that the greens are fast, but they rival any other public course in the state in how true they roll. Club and players do a great job repairing ball marks, and the care shown makes the round extremely fun. And more importantly, fair.
Like a Park
Had not played Halifax in several years. Like being in a park. Few houses on course. Peaceful. Busy but not crowded. Very challenging and lengthy. Excellent and fast greens and overall in very good condition.
Practice area available prior to playing
Love this course
Course is doing n great shape tee to greens nice layout Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Restaurant is stay l not open after the fire they are working on getting back in business
Very good course in really good condition given recent weather.
I like this course more each time I play it (about 8 or 9 times in the past 3 years). It was in excellent condition given the recent stretch of crazy weather. The course played looooong from the Blues given the storm the previous day and understandably soft/wet conditions. But the greens were still rolling very nicely. It seems they have cleared a lot of trees/bushes from last year, all good changes opening up the look and feel.
Given the price point, worth a visit!
Greens were fast
Course was in great shape. Played from the blipues which made a little more challenging. A few par 3s were 190+ yards and with wind played closer to 220. Look forward to playing again on whites to really enjoy the course.
