Overpriced and overbooked
This was the second and last time I would play Lakeville Country Club. They apparently have a membership system that doesn't allow members to book tee times until after 10:00 on the weekends. So my 10:44 tee time was right in the middle of the rush. The course is fine, not in great shape but it is early season. Problem is they book too many tee times for the length of the course. We finished the first hole and there were 3 groups on the second tee box. We then waited on every tee box for the rest of the day. After 4 hours and only having finished 12 holes I had had enough. It would have been a 6 hour round if I had stayed to finish. If you feel like spending an eternity to play 19 holes, Lakeville is the place for you. Oh, and they also charge you the full price even if you book through Golf Now.
Not what we booked
This course did not honor the Golf Now rate that we booked online, instead charged $48 for temporary tees and winter golf conditions. We were very disappointed with their attitude about Golf Now.
We are sorry to hear that we did not exceed your expectations. We would like to speak with you further offline. Please email us at lakevillecc@outlook.com.
good value
nice course, nice people. no frills. tees in tough shape, but it is only march.
Thank you very much for the 4 star review! We hope we will see you again soon!
Lakeville country club
course was in good shape for the time of year. No leaves to loose your ball. Clb house had friendly people working there and food was good
Lakeviille country club
Nice fall conditions. E en though the greens were aerated the putting was ok
Worst golf course I have played in 30 years...
I have had the dubious honor of playing at subpar courses in my life but this one ranks as number one. Not sure why this is even called a country club. The tees are non existent. The cart paths are completely gone or just sand remaining. The fairways are almost bare and the greens are the worst of all. Recently aerated and dressed they are nothing but sand really. I noticed that someone else commented "interesting layout" really? I don't know who designed this course but they clearly had a massive challenge packing 18 holes into this space and the setup and layout of most of the holes are just weird. Normally I would not have minded of I was getting the round at a really low rate but I paid the "discounted" rate of $104 for two! What a disappointment and total waste of 4 hours not to mention the money. In my area it is hard to keep courses in good shape this time of the year, but none of the 3 that usually play cost as much and they are all still in superior condition by fat, even the worst of the 3 that I usually start to avoid when it gets colder. Do not waste your time or money...
Course condition
Most of the course was in great shape. Hey, it's the end of the season, so let it go. Very challenging greens.
close to home
greens were in nice shape, some fairways are a little rough. the island green hole is nice.
LAKEVILLE WELL WORTH IT
Got a good rate, staff was friendly greens are in great shape.Plays around 6800 from the blues. The round took approximately 4 hours.
Forget this course
Tee time was between two tournaments. Slow and noisy play. Bunkers, rough and greens in bad shape. Landscaping crews cutting while putting and hitting. Quit after 12 holes!!!
Disappointed
Very disappointed with the current course conditions / maintenance. Almost couldn't tell the difference between the fairways and rough. Both were loaded with huge clumps of crabgrass. Tee boxes not well maintained either--lots of dirt. Greens are fine. I won't be back there this year--not even at the Golfnow price.
middle of the road
got a deal on LMG for this course, 25 each with cart.
my buddy and I expected to be paired up, but they werent busy so they allowed us to play as a twosome.
the layout is interesting, with back to back par 5's and par 3's....
tee boxes where not in great shape, most of the greens where ok but 3-4 where a little spotty....
Fairways where ok, the rough was not long but it is thick, finding your ball can be a challenge in the rough.
this would be a fantastic course if it was in better condition, I would play again but only at the discounted rate... not worth the normal 45/50 fee.
Average Course
Hadn't played here in more than 10 years. Course hasn't changed much as far as condition and challenge. Playing from the white tees and dry conditions course played short. Greens were generally smooth. Tees boxes in rough shape. Fairways average. Lots of weeds and clover in the rough. Pace of play average for a Friday ( 4 1/2 hours). No starter. Ranger was spraying for something in the tall grass. No bugs or mosquitos!! Plenty of cold drinking water on course. At discount Golfnet the price was fair.
Good Value and Good Golf
Very pretty course and terrific design. Fun for everyone and moderately challenging. Greens in great shape. Keeps you interested till the end.
sunday party of 3
Course was in pretty good condition given the overly dry Summer. We waited a bit, but not excessively slow for a weekend round. All staff friendly and helpful, clubhouse was a busy with locals enjoying food, drinks, and games. 18 holes with a fair amount of challenges, love the 16th and 17th holes !
Very friendly staff & well maintained course.
My brother, son & I played the Lakeville CC yesterday. We were the first ones out & the staff were very accommodating to our 6:30 AM tee time. Everything made a very enjoyable round of golf. I will definitely play this course again, when visiting the area.
Pleasent Return After 20+ Years
I was paired up with a twosome (a member and a guy who also had not been on this course in over twenty years). Had a great time especially after a nice welcome from the staff. Conditions were almost as good as they were when I last played here...just needed a little more help from mother nature and it would be ideal. Greens perfect and the rest catching up. Nice mix of golf holes with the last five holes really making you work to stay focused. Well worth the trip...first rate!!!
review title
been playing Lakeville cc for 20years.
never seen better greens and fairways.
great value!
extreamly slow
the course is average, they had a Sunday afternoon shotgun which they put us out after. if they are having a tournament they should let you know we played the front 9 twice as the pace of play was so slow. if I had not made the decision to do that would have walked away after 9.
Conditions
I would skip this course unless they get the tee boxes and the rough in better condition! I have played on much better courses for less!!!
