Golfer Reviews
Challenging Course
I booked a foursome at LCC via Golf Now late the night before playing. After booking, I checked for recent reviews and was concerned to see that other reviewers said the greens were in bad shape and the fairways looked rough.
I was relieved to find this was not the case. While the greens were a bit on the slow side, the lines were true. Due to the wet weather, the fairways were a touch long in some wet spots. The rough was cut short (which was nice considering the overall difficulty of this course).
We played the blues thinking the 5800 yards from the whites was too short for us. We were wrong. The narrow fairways more than make up for the lack of total distance.
I'll likely be back for another round this year. This course will test your game and leave you frustrated at times. It was worth every stroke.
Retired
I arrived a little early and was told I could go right out.
I found the people on the practice green very friendly and I joined up the some to play as I was a single. The coarse was set up very nicely with some good water challenges. The greens need a lot of work as does the fairways and the tee boxes. Some of the fairways need to cut you couldn't tell the fairway from the rough. I know it is early in the season so that there is still time to make it good. I hope they will.
Beats Work.
Have played this course before and new what to expect -- TIGHT -- . Greens were very slow and bumpy. Pro-shop is pretty much non-existent. Forgot my peds and you think they had anything there to buy. -- forget it 18 holes with shoes and no socks. Better days are coming.
What use to be, isn't anymore
This was one of the premier golf courses in the area back about ten years ago. The greens were excellent, quick, well manicured, as were the fairways. Not anymore. The greens are patchy, diseased, not cut or rolled properly, and very slow. the excessive play over the winter months have ruined these greens. The fair way are more like a pasture then a golf course. They need to spend some money on the course , superintendent, and maintainance . There are no ball washers on the course, a with only about 1 in 4 carts that have a ball washer on them. Some carts have containers for seed to fill in your divots,, but there are empty. There are too many better courses out there with good deals to play this one
One and done!
Course was not in very good condition, greens were terrible . . . . . grass was patchy at best. No starter, no ranger and play was agonizingly slow. Three hours to play the front with 3 or 4 groups on every hole. We averaged a 15-20 minute wait to tee off on just about every hole. It was obvious they didn't care about your experience once they got your money. I will never play there again!
Some potential here
Early spring golf is not the best time to judge a course, but I see a lot of work needed here. Best feature is the layout. Many interesting holes, undulating greens, 5 par 5's, and water in play on multiple holes.Greens were recently punched and sanded but they look like they will grow in to be decent.
Fairways bad- patchy and hard to see where rough meets fairway. All tee boxes beat up.Traps are terrible with no cut edges. I'm hoping the club will bring the track up to speed. I'd like to try the layout again.
Waited A Long Time
Lakeville Country Club had been on my To Play list for many years. It was worth the wait, 92.5 miles each way from Burlington, so I really wanted to play on a perfect Good Friday afternoon. Very interesting course. It has 5 par 5's and 5 par 3's. The front nine finishes 5-5-3-5-3. The back nine finishes 3-3-4 and what a finish that is !!! The two par threes are both island greens and the surrounding water guards the whole left side of the finishing hole!!! To rate the course now is unfair. I played on the 14th of April after a very tough March. The greens were aerated and sanded. The grass really hasn't begun to grow yet. I gave an overall rating of 5 knowing those large greens will be beautiful in a few weeks and the fairways will be just fine after they need to be cut a few times. Fun, interesting, challenging, go play Lakeville.
I've played course frequently and enjoy it but
When we got there we were informed that the front side was closed for maintenance and had to play the back side twice. I think golf now should be notified to be able to pass along when this happens.
Great customer service
Great course love the island par 3 long course pace of play an issue
Sean

Total value
Totally recommend this course to any level of player.
Not a Favorite
Course is very tight. Holes are close together and it seemed like we were dodging golf balls all day. Condition of the tee boxes, fairways and greens were subpar.
Nice little place
I really like this place. The holes are nothing wild, but I like the approach shots and the greens. It's just a nice place to hit different clubs off the tee and work on different things. Tee boxes are not in good shape, but that's my only complaint. Def worth a hot deal.
Thanks a lot! We appreciate your feedback and are happy to hear that you enjoyed your round. Please come back and play again soon!
Autumn golf at Lakeville
Very enjoyable round. Course was very busy so pace of play a little slower than usual but still a very pleasant day on the course.
