Senior Golfer
Played course at a discounted rate, would have been disappointed if we had paid full price for the condition of the course. That being said I enjoyed layout and length of holes. Fairways were in need of a lot of TLC. Played this course once in the spring and the course condition was in much better shape than it was in mid August. Greens still exhibit a lot of effect of winter kill. This course is need of improved grounds keeping and course management and could be a gem!
Tight and Confusing
The layout is very very tight, side by side fairways with very little protection between them. Course layout is confusing finding your way from one green to the next tee is not clearly marked on all holes. Many or the fairways were dried out and sparsely covered with grass. Greens were in good condition though and rolled well. Sand in bunkers is smooth and full.
Water locations was excellent
I will definitely be returning back with more friends. I might have found a course home.
Lakeville CC great value with coupon
First time at course, nice big putting green right outside clubhouse. No starter had me guessing when to get out, but it was first come first serve and I followed a twosome ahead of me who I paired up with on the 2nd. Greens were in better shape than tee boxes, but if it's one or the other greens are the way to go. Nice track, short par 5s but big boy par 3s. you'll use all your clubs but Long irons off most holes are all you need, a great value with the Golfnow coup.
Not bad
Course was in decent shape, some of the greens had poor surface conditions. 17 and 18 are littered with goose droppings.
Average Course
The greens were decent, but a bit slow. The front nine is fairly forgiving, but there were a lot of holes on the back nine where driver was taken out of your hands. Fairways and tees were in average shape at best, so the $40 Hot Deal was on average in terms of value. There weren't many people out in the afternoon, but the pace didn't seem great since we were only a twosome, and had to wait for most of the front nine. The two slow groups in front of us left after nine, but we caught up to some foursomes, and actually saw a fivesome out in front of us.
Needs improvement
Course played easy. I'm a 7 handicap shot 73. Not how I played that made this course bad. The fairways were cut longer than most courses intermediate rough and all the tee boxes chewed up with no repair. The greens were soft and slow. Basically there are no fairways on this course because of how long the grass is. I doubted they owned a lawn mower
Worth the trip
This was recommended to me and I'm glad I went. The facility is going through minor renovations but the course was in nice shape and well kept. 5 par fives and 5 par threes. A steal with Golfnow.
Good deal for the money.
Not a bad course. Many interesting elevation changes.
The course has a tendency to be wet at times.
the course has a great set up.
Great course to play at staff are very friendly and the 19th hole was very. Great bar
Last time
Played this course couple of times. They always overbook and allow 5 at a tkme and no starter. Very chaotic and for the conditions etc id tagher be at a driving range. Thank you golf now for returning my $.
showing signs of improvement
Nice layout but course condition have been declining over past10 years. New owners have made improvements to club house and food service but until this year i wasn't sure they owned a lawn mower. Playing as single joined group in front of me, ranger was upset by2 carts with single riders but did nothing about the painfully slow pace of play. They got a golf pro this year and are starting to show signs of improvement.
The course has average features
Lakeville is a moderately challenging course with a bit of water on several holes. The course is being improved with repairs to tee boxes and fairways. The greens were true. pace of play was fine.
course in good shape, some very tight holes. you may need a helmet on some holes
course was in good shape, very good price on golf now.
TIGHT COURSE
NEW OWNERS HAVE BEEN DOING A GREAT JOB. BACK HAS IMPROVED IN RECENT YEAR (not wet throughout fairways, #14,15) They get an "A" for effort. The influx of customers has made for slow rounds. Good for them bad for us. Great clubhouse staff, great value.
hmm?
T boxes in tough shape, poorly marked, bunkers need work, could be nice maybe latet in season. Bar tender at clubhouse worth stoping in.
Pretty Good for $40
The condition of the course was pretty good with the condition of a few holes under repair. Nothing that got in the way of play. The layout was tight and because of that there were lots of stray balls causing quite a few close calls. With the GolfNow discount it made it worth the money.
Thank Goodness for GolfNow
Ok, maybe I'm spoiled because of the courses I play in my town (Plymouth, MA) but the overall layout and condition of this course is well below standard. We played from the blue tees (a relatively short 6300 yards) and there were virtually no decent landing areas. You can tell there was some thought in the planning of the golf course just not execution. At one point there are three par fives in a four hole stretch.
Most of the holes are on top of each other so you're constantly ducking wayward tee shots. (Our cart got hit. TWICE!) Fairways and tee boxes are poorly groomed but the greens were in decent shape although they could have been swept. There is a significant number of tree limbs that hang over launching and landing areas for no particular reason. Especially from the back tees.
Now after saying all this, I did get a great deal on GolfNow for $15 with cart for 18 holes. For that money it was definitely worth it but I wouldn't pay a penny more. (It's $45 during the week and $55 on the weekend)
It is a great place for the beginner golfer to get their feet (and golf ball) wet. There are some holes that are picturesque and can be intimidating for the beginner golfer. The staff is very friendly and the clubhouse is well stocked with an extensive menu.
Not Bad
Tee boxes need some work, pretty beat up. Greens look pretty good but are definitely on the slow side.
Course lay out is great.
Two Flaws only
Lakeville CC is a beautiful course with a very friendly and helpful clubhouse staff. The only two flaws were a temporary tee and a cart that died out of power on the ninth tee. Had to give it time to recharge and get out and push it uphill to swap to a new cart. Other than those two little hiccups a great time.
