Crumpin-Fox Club

I played Crumpin Fox over the weekend, and have been looking forward to this round for quite some time. I had heard great things and was excited to experience it for the first time. However, we were informed that upon arrival, we would get a discount because they had punched the greens earlier that week. While the discount was appreciated, a notice would’ve gone a long way, as the greens being aerated were AWFUL. The holes for the aeration were massive and there was extremely uneven sand coverage, which meant that you would be putting and your ball would roll, and then enter a bunker (on the green) and stop. I understand that aeration is part of the process to make the greens last longer in the season, but my wife drove all the way from Boston to play the course, so a notice that the greens were aerated would’ve saved us a 2 hour drive both ways.

As for the rest of the course, it is a great layout and is definitely a tight course at times. There are many holes where having local knowledge (or a course GPS) would help to make the course management better, as it seemed that I was forced to hit a punch shot under trees while being in the fairways on many holes. The fairways and tees are in great condition.

I would like to say I would come back and give it another shot, but for the money and the drive, there are better courses closer for less money.

I drive 1.5 hours to play this course and it is worth every second of the drive. This was the second year I play the course the weekend of their club championship and there was nothing about the course that disappoints, every aspect in pristine condition....tee boxes perfectly manicured, fairways soft and cut tight, greens firm, and fast but roll true to your line, and the rough was to be expected, deep, thick and took a minute to locate your ball, my ball did not find any of the bunkers throughout the course (can't give feedback on sand). Staff is typically 5 stars but when checking in this time the person at the register charged me a $10 cart fee when it was already paid for when I booked my tee time online. I have to mention greens fee I paid online was at a discounted rate so even with the extra $10 for the cart it was still a tremendous value. I highly recommend this course no matter the distance to travel, it will not disappoint.

They had a tournament in the morning, so greens were in really nice condition, Super-fast but in a fun way! Course was gorgeous as always. was behind a 4 some on front 9 so took 2.5 hours but played through on back and did it in 1.20hr. Great time as always

Such a nice course tucked in a wooded setting. Challenging for first timers but fair.

The course was nice for all the rain lately, but the greens were extremely bumpy and slow. Could have been weather related but the ball didn’t roll nice for $100

Great course, perfect conditions as usual. Greens a little slower than usual with all the rain, traps a little pebbly in spots. Great pace of play.

But really, guys. One water station on the course?

I can't say enough about this beautiful golf course- challenging fun and did I say beautiful??

Never disappoints, great layout, conditions and staff friendly and professional. Watch out for the squirrel around the first tee, stole my sandwich out of my bag, forgot to close the pocket, my bad.

First time playing Crumpin & will return. Course in great shape. Starter was very friendly & genuinely happy that we had a great experience.

First time making the trip to Crumpin Fox and won’t be the last. The starter Mike was amazing, gave us a few pointers on various holes and thanked us for making the trek out there. It was cart path only due to the rain the day before, but the conditions were very good despite some fairways being soggy. Greens rolled true, not too fast and not too slow. Only downfall was the pace of ply with no ranger on the course. Par 5 8th hole had four groups on it, thank god the slow group let us pss them on 10. Front 9 was almost 2.5 hours due to that foursome. Once my threesome passed them we played the back in about an hour and a half. Post round drinks at Zeke’s were cold and the food was good. Wait staff and bartender were superb. I’ll be back for sure
