Fun, Challenging, Well Maintained
First time playing this course in a very long time time and I have to say this is a really fun course design. Fairways are narrow and make you consider putting the big stick and your ego back in the bag on many tee shots. Water comes into play on a number of holes but in a variety of fun ways. For this early in the season the course was in great shape. Tee boxes were not bad, but the greens were rolling really nice and I could hardly find a pitch mark on any of them. A few hard/wet bunkers (to be expected in late April) but majority were perfect. Hats off to the grounds crew at Butternut.

Quality Course (bring extra balls)
Butternut always seems to be in good condition. The greens at the beginning of April were in pretty good conditions minus a few random ball marks seemingly leftover from last year. Other than that they rolled really well. It's a tough narrow course with water and trees, brings extra balls if you can't keep it straight. I try to get out here at least a couple times a year as it's one of the better conditioned courses for a reasonable price around Central MA.

Good course, will play again
Very friendly staff. Good, tight layout. Conditions good. One concern - the GolfNow reservation indicated a cart was included but the wife and I had to pay cart fees upon arrival.

Nice course in very good condition!
The course was in very good condition, greens smooth, fairways cleared of leaves.
The tee boxes were a little roughed-up, but not too bad.
Would definitely play there again.

a really pretty course. Fairways narrow on most holes but not insurmountable. a really lovely golf experiences.

Great course, great condition
We played early today and at 7.00 AM they were already blowing leaves off the fairways and greens. We’ve played this course 50 times at least over the last ten years and it’s always in good condition. It’s challenging, with some narrow fairways, but good fun.

Thursday
We played 12 holes in a rain soaked day. But thought the course was in great condition and interesting. Haven’t played there in about ten years but will return. Play a number of different courses in MA. I put this in top 10.
