Pembroke is good but plays long
Pembroke is a very good course in very good condition. The greens are fast but needs a little work on condition. This course plays long for us old guys, with 5 par 4’s at over 400 yards from the whites. Very friendly staff, an enjoyable round of golf.
Pembroke cc
Greens seemed.to have have some.diisease..bad patches all over. Bunkers were not.raked.and were.mostly.firm.sand like cement. Could only use the cart in the cart path so had to walk a good distance thru out the dat.
A little pricey for that course.
My only issue was that my daughter who is 16 with a driver's license and who drives an SUV was not allowed to drive a golf cart. Seemed a little ridiculous. It definitely slowed our pace since I had to drive everywhere. I thought the price for 18 holes was a little pricey for that course.
It's been better
I have palyed Pembroke CC over last few years about 4 times a year. I used to think it was a great little course, well maintained, and reasonably priced. My thoughts have changed to a averga track.
Latley, the conditions have suffered. Greens were missing grass in some areas and in others full of fungus or something. They rolled true though. Rakes were missing from some bunkers so many had a high denisty of footprints and holes. Everytime in the past 2+ years, it's cart path only, which is fine if it is muddy, or just rained, but I now wonder if they ever (will) allow carts on the fairways. The last few days I have played it's been bone dry. The cart paths are beat up in some spots,
For the right money, it's still a decent track, but it' has lost some of its luster.
A lot of potential - poor condition
Disappointing round yesterday at Pembroke CC. Greens are hard as my hardwood floors. 9 iron approach shots bouncing 6 feet in the air and off the back of the green. Dead/burned out areas all over the place off the fairway. Numerous bunkers were either mud or filled with rocks (or both). Nice layout with some interesting holes. $81? No chance.
Don't waste your time
Loved the layout of this course but >>>>>
1) the pro shop employee was not friendly at all and seem put out when we asked questions.
2) It was cart path only and we were told it has been like that for over 2 years.
3) Fairway were in great condition since there hasn't been a cart on them for 2 years.
4) Rough was in Rough shape.
5) Green were like cement and every ball that hit the green rolled off.
6) When we arrived at noon only 4 cars in the parking lot. That should have told us something, so don't waste your time.
Nice longer course
Pembroke was in pretty good share for early season. The fairways were excellent and the greens very fast, although a little bumpy. Tough course for a senior golfer playing from the whites, at over 6,300 yards, with 6 par 4’s near or over 400 yards. It was a very windy day so the course played even longer.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Overall, very good value. I will definitely play this course again and recommend this course to everyone.
Good course layout, conditions weren’t the best
Patchy tee boxes, greens were extremely hard. Fairways were in good condition but rough was more sandy and rocky than longer grass. Overall, decent track with potential but likely won’t return. Certainly not worth the price unless you get a good discount on golf now.
