Poor conditions
Poorly maintained tee boxes, fairways and greens. Staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. Would not recommend.
It’s meh!!
Not really wiorth the money. The ranger there is a dink, and it’s cart path only all the time!!! The sand traps are absolutely terrible. The starters there were super nice and the bartender was fantastic. I’m not in any hurry to go back there.

seek better
went here for the first time. course is tired. burn spots on many greens, no rakes in traps, narrow fairways. workers do not pause while you are hitting. fairway mower didnt pause, move - nothing...just kept mowing in the fairway.worker with tractor in sand trap did not stop while we were putting...seems you are golfing around them. One and done.
It’s ok!
The people there are great at the start and the young man that brings the carts out. However the ranger there thinks he’s a drill instructor in the military and is a bit much. What stinks is it’s ALWAYS cart path only. What’s the point of renting a cart then??
Pembroke CC
Decent course but it needs work. I will say the staff there are great people that do what they can. It’s been “cart path only” for at least 4 years. The greens have a lot of patches and are not in the best condition. It’s always been a good pace of play when I’ve been there. I think if they put the work into the greens and allowed carts on the fairways it would be more enjoyable.
Terrific layout, fast true greens
I was pleasantly surprised today on how well the conditions were today. The pace of play was great, they did not have 2 foursomes on every hole like many other local courses.
The best feature this course has to offer is the old school professional layout. There are some long challenging par 4’s.
The greens are very fast but roll true. The bunkers need work and new sand. There are no frills at this course, just a good old fashion track.
Pembroke fairways and greens
a lot of fairways had bad spots with no grass in some areas. Some of the greens had diseased spots. The clubhouse hand air conditioning apparently it was broke.
Course is in great conditions, greens are fast and difficult which can be frustrating. Would’ve given a 4 stars but the pace of play on a 7am tee time was bunkers. Almost 6 hours to play 18 holes is ridiculous. Course has no rangers to ensure groups are not holding everyone up, it’s a real problem with most courses that are not private. Investing a small amount to have a Marshall drive around to keep groups on pace cost nothing during peak hours and will bring more business in the long run.
Don't Waste Your Time If You Want To Have Fun
I should have known when I drove into the parking lot for a late morning tee time on a perfect day and the parking lot had hardly any cars. I prepaid for a foursome and one player had an emergency and couldn't make it. I realize that last minute cancellations are not refundable but would it really have hurt a HURTING club to rain check a round. So much for prepaying for a round to save a few bucks, my bad. Now I'm paying over a hundred bucks to play a round with a cart. When we check in with the starter a little early he says you guys are set to go whenever your ready, great!. Not so GREAT CART PATHS ONLY. I'm 76 years old and frequently walk 18 with a pull cart on some courses. I would much rather have walked 18 than have a cart with Cart Path Only .Only to fine out that my ball is on the opposite side of the fairway and that when I reach my ball I realize I haven't got the right club. By now smoke is coming out my ears and I'm so tight I could scream, no chance on earth I can strike the ball well. Next after a great Daffy Duck impersonation I make a good high approach shot to the green only to find that the greens were as hard as the parking lot. I also know like a lot of golfers I do not possess a great mindset for the game , more Smoke. Tee Boxes were good, Fairways were Fair, I don't mind fast greens but these greens gave a new meaning to Fast! My wife keeps telling me that golf is suppose to be fun. This Round Was Not Fun. I slept on the couch last night, so much for FUN!.
I DON"T RECOMMEND THIS COURSE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE FUN.
A deteriating course
I played many times in the past, but not in the last 2 years. The course is severely degraded by poor maintenance. I will not be back.

One of my favorite courses
I think the bad reviews on Pembroke CC have been mostly unwarranted. Ive played Pembroke CC 4 or 5 times a year for the last 3 years and never had a bad experience. Teed off at 0800 and finished right at 4 hours, only waiting we had to endure was at the turn. $88 (including cart) is steep for a greens fee, but Pembroke CC is no outlier from the rising cost of green fees everywhere it seems. The course has a fun but challenging layout with IMO one of the best opening holes around, a straight away par 5 lined by tall pines. The greens are a different style of grass looking like patch work, they roll fast requiring touch but are consistent and true. The greens are definitely firm requiring a soft landing and roll out on approach shots. The course conditions overall were good to great in areas ‘in play’ with patchy to sparse areas off the sides of some fairways and bunkers (which should be avoided anyway) This course is fitted to longer players who are able to drive to the corners of dog legs for an approach with mid irons and who can play to a firm fast green. I think the conditions are better than the way people make it out to seem in the comments. I look forward to playing there again soon.
Pembroke - Summer 2024
The Pembroke course was enjoyable - very picturesque layout in the woods with many ponds and blooming hydrangeas. The greens and fairways were in excellent condition and the greens were fast. The general requirement is cart-path only, so the pace of play was determined by the walkers - we played in just under 5 hours on a weekend afternoon. My wife is senior with trouble walking, so our cart was allowed to be on the fairways, but even so there were 4-5 holes where the fairways were roped off from the path (the par 3's and a few par 4's). The cart path, the parking lot and the facilities could use some work, but the course was challenging and an excellent value for the money.
Course
Course was in rough shape. Greens were very dry, hard and ran way too fast. Couldn’t keep a ball on the greens at any point of the round. Most of the fairways could have been drove on but they do cart path only. Bunkers were either filled with water or had bunker sand in there but the sand wasn’t spread with grass growing out of it.
For $90+ dollars this course should be $65 highest. Ranger also pushed us out 15 minutes only and couldn’t finish a small bucket of balls.
Getting better But
Cart path only all the time? Greens are hard as a rock, can’t land on the green and stay on.
With a little TLC course could be great.
