Great course layout and friendly staff. The Greens were in great shape; but fairways were dead in spots and the rough off the fairway was uncut and deep. At one hole, around the green it seemed like landscape construction, as dirt and rocks were right off the fairway approach to the green. I was a little disappointed.

I used to really enjoy this course a few years ago. Today I played the south course and I thought it was one of the least maintained courses I’ve seen in years. The one Impressive part of the course I was very happy with were the greens. They were spongy when you hit the approach shot but rolled true. All I all I was not a fan of the south course as most of the shots I had in the fairway or even the rough were hit off of dirt.

Beautiful course but very difficult finding the ball in the first cut.

The layout of the course is very nice, appropriately challenging. Pace of play was good not great, but there's only so much that a course can do to regulate that.

My biggest problem was some aspects of conditioning. Many if not all tee boxes--including the par 3's--had simply not been cut for a couple of days. Some blades of grass were more probably 3" high in the middle of the tee box. Also, some of the rough was a bit overgrown, which made it difficult to find balls given the white-ish weeds that came over the top of the green grass blades. Fairways and greens were in very good shape overall, though. The conditioning issues are easily addressable, but until care is taken to ensure that tee boxes are mowed, $49 walking is steep.

I’ve played the north course a few times here and thoroughly enjoyed all my rounds with the challenging and fun layout. I played the south for the first time yesterday and had just as much fun playing. The par 4s all seem to offer distinctly different challenges and the massive close to 600 yds uphill par 5 tenth hole let’s you know that this course is not for the faint of heart. Greens were impeccable and the cart girls were out. Golf season is officially back in action in MA.

Very friendly staff and efficient check in. As a short hitter, requiring a 200+ yard drive to hit the fairway from the middle tees on many holes is a bit much to ask. The roughs were more than 6 inches. Pitch shots landing 10 yards from the green could not be found. No one was on the course to move things forward. Cut the rough and add some rangers and the course would be much improved.

Played this course a few times in 2018. This course is a real gem in the Massachusetts golf world. Easily accessible from Boston - approx 45min drive. Beautiful surroundings leading up to the course and at the course itself.

This historic course is worth every penny. The staff is friendly, the booking is easy, and they’re amenable to being flexible to get your game going as on time as possible. Even early if available.

The greens are in good shape and the fairways are very well curated and maintained. Course layout is fairly straight ahead and there’s a Marshall keeping things flowing.

The price of a round is reasonable and after playing most of the courses in the area I have to say that this is one of the best. Challenging but not going to break you.

South course layout not as good as the north course. Extremely slow play and no rangers which they desperately need. Not a very good value for the greens fees you pay. Only played today because the only available tee time I could get. Wont play again. Many nicer courses in the area for less money.

Awesome course all around. I live in Boston and this is worth the drive.

Perfect day. Tee’d off at 11a. Yet, we were waiting at every single shot all the way around. Might have been the 3 some ahead of us ... playing from blue but not even close to up to the task. Still, people here are not interested in ready golf. And no course rangers.

Apart from that, it was a great day. And they also need to calibrate their golf carts ... those are the worst carts - the motor being either full on or it wouldn’t run.

The course was in really good shape, and clear of leaves and debris that are common in autumn. Staff were great, friendly -- on time. We played the South course and liked the layout.

My friend and I walked and were paired with 2 others who were in a cart. They were wonderful companions, but we felt a bit pressured to keep up, even though they were patient and not in any way hurrying us. Perhaps pairing walkers with walkers is better.

I'd read reviews that the course wasn't in good condition and almost didn't play here. Glad we did. The course was beautiful and well maintained. We'll play here again! Great combo of short and long. Thanks for a great day.
