Good, but some rough greens.
The course overall is good, first green is pretty rough, a couple of others have some patches.
Overall a good course for walking or riding, narrow fairways (opened up a little), some good challenges will test your game and shot making.
Course
Always love butternut been playing there over 20 years best value in the whole state not even close
Great golf
I’ve been playing butternut since it opened many years ago it’s my go to course the course is great it’s tight but extremely well taken care of I highly recommend it
My round at Butternut
Hadn't played the course in a while. Was sent off by myself and the foursome in front of me let me pass on the second hole. Didn't see anyone till the back nine and a couple let me pass on 14or 15. Took my time and even played 2balls on a couple of holes. Still finished in 21/2 hrs. Very enjoyable round.
Recovering course.
This course is fairly flat good for walking. It is recovering well, but still shows signs from the harsh winter, greens are spotty and some areas are rough. Overall a good course, tree lined and fun to play.
Great value. Spring golf conditions.
Good Spring time golf. A couple greens with bare spots. A few tees need more grass coverage. The cart paths need leveling. Great price for a good track. Have fun.
Do not recommend
We were playing the course as a foursome when we got hit onto by a dude behind us playing on the lady tees. He hit my foot and could have done a lot worse. We said it was okay and to stop but he continued to do it for the next two holes. One the 6 hole he hit it within 10 feet of my friend for the 3rd time and he kicked it 5 ft away because they were not respecting our space. We couldn’t go any faster because there was a foursome ahead of us. We then got alerted that we were kicked off the course because this man was the owner son. This entitled nepo baby kicked us off the course because he felt like hitting when we were on the fairway. We are just 15 year olds trying to have a good time golfing together and the owners rich son just scammed us out of 320 dollars. They are the ones with poor golf etiquette and we got kicked off the course for it.
Fun layout
This course is very tight. It has a few holes that are target golf and a few that require a great deal of length. The greens were in good shape for the most part considering we were playing the end of August. The fairways are right next to each other so there is always a chance of getting hit so head on a swivel. Carts are simple, no GPS, no sand. Beverage cart was around but not annoying. Overall it was a fun day and the course was in pretty good shape for the end of the summer.
Solid
Just like everyone says, you'll have a better time if you are able to keep the ball in play. I'll admit I got lucky with some good tree bounces, but if you get through around without hitting a tree at this course, you're doing something special. For a Monday afternoon Labor Day round, I thought the pace was great, the ranger was paying attention and the starters did a great job. Too bad the restaurant wasn't open when we were done, but the cart girl was terrific.
Good weather, nice course.
The course is in good shape, fairways and greens are good. Some holes are tight and some require carry but a good challenge and fun to play.
Tight But True
Narrow fairways but fabulous greens. Not a bad trade off but it can be frustrating for big hitters, unless they're very accurate.
