Good for a warmup
Fine for only $20. Has some challenging holes. Greens in good shape. Pace was decent. My wife and I played as a tune-up for trip to Tennessee. Under $30 is a good price.
Too difficult because I'm not a good golfer
I find golf to be a very challenging game, so this course was extremely difficult for me. They really should offer a children's course for beginners like me. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I think one is supposed to hit the ball with the stick, but other than that, I have no idea.
Great Affordable Course in Genesse County
Scheduled a tee time through golf now to go check out this course near work. Was very happy with the overall course quality and up keeping. Course has a challenge layout and is a good place for players of all levels. Would recommend too anyone and plan on coming back very soon
Great course to be able to position your shots
You will need your long game to par successfully or get birdies. Plus, one needs to be able to read the greens.

Pace of play
Group in front of us, moved way to slow. No ranger to move them. Three groups stacked up behind them.(including us).
Worst experience
Worst experience. Forced us to play foursome with two semi pros who played at maniacal pace. Rush, rush, rush.Would not even pause at the turn. The pairing teed off while I was using restroom. Constantly told us where and how to hit ball. Told wife shouln't use her pink balls. Constantly making comments to rush. I believe our pairing was a set up to make it a bad experience so they don't have outsiders play "their" course. Course itself was beautiful and in excellent shape.Shouldn't be called a public course. Not friendly.
Course great, online service very bad, not recommended
IMA Brookwood golf course is very nice, crowded, but nice people working there. But I used a credit card online and got charged twice!!!! The fella at the counter said I had to take it up with the online service, but when I tried, there is NO WAY TO CONTACT THEM! I could not pose a question, inquire about my situation, NOTHING! I would NEVER use the online services out there again! I would never recommend using it, either.
One of my favorite
I love this course. BUT! The fairways were horrible. It looked like they did very little if any watering as they were burned out in many places. We had to move our balls around to find grass. I tell my friends a lot to go play Brookwood but the course is an embarrassment.
Good Times
Had the first tee-time out on a beautiful Saturday morning. Lots of fun. Fairly forgiving course.
Where's the yardage to ALL the Doglegs
Second time playing. 10 years apart. It'll be 20 the next time
Overall did not enjoy
The course layout was nice, outside of the first tee box being 10 yards parallel to the pro shop. Which wouldn't be a big deal if there wasn't 20+ golfers going in and out and waiting in the cart for 20 minutes in line for the first tee. Only to tee up my ball, address it, and the old guy working the shop comes out and starts yelling asking about our tee time. Very unprofessional and annoying. The course was so packed that we were bumper to bumper the whole time and it took us over 5 hours to golf 18 WITH a cart. Fairways were extremely fast and most of the grass was completely dead. Played like a links course but I'm not sure that was how it was designed. The greens were in better shape than any other part of the course which was a plus, but we did have to fix many ball marks on quite a few of the greens (that weren't ours) in order to putt. We chose to play this course based on the high overall ratings and because we hadn't played it. I can now say I've played it and it is not worth the 45 minute drive or the (cheap) $40 price. Not for me.
Hard as a rock
The tee boxes and the fairways were literally cart paths. Difficult even getting a tee into the ground. When you actually were able to get a good shot off the fairway from the rock solid ground, you would hit something hard up near the green it the ball would bounce hard left or tight. The only good thing that I can talk about was that they have a really nice grill at the turn and that if you can hit a low drive down the fairway, it will run forever. It is too bad, I was looking forward to trying this course out.
