Sugarbush Golf Club

First review on this site but I feel compelled. I heard from a friend that this course wasn’t great, then he admitted he hadn’t played it in a long time. The guy next to him said it was really nice now.

Well, I was happily surprised. I’d say for the money this was one of the top values I’ve ever played. Washington County in Richfield WI,

And the RTJ trail are the only other two in my top 3.

Course was in great shape. Challenging, yet playable layout. Jerry, the marshal was so helpful in make sure our round was enjoyable. He held up a group who missed their tee time and had to go off the back so they didn’t interfere with league night. But he let us turn in front of them after we played the front in 1:40. We loved that.

Overall great experience an worth the drive from Detroit.

played in just over 4 hours. excellent conditions and layout. you can tell they are working hard to become a premier location. staff was awesome and facility is first class. what a treat!!

The from the range to the course everything is in great shape.

Very enjoyable course that's in immaculate shape. Somewhat tough course that will penalize you for errant shots. Greens are undulating and average speed.

Great value for a very nice course.

We were looking for some nice courses to play as a change of place from what we were playing in Macomb county .

Sugar bush did not disappoint.

Greens are perfect. Course was well kept.

Plus the food at the clubhouse after the round was awesome.

Well worth the hour drive from my house to the course.

Great staff, food, and the course was in amazing shape

Course is absolutely stellar, greens are immaculate, fairways are perfect. My issue was that I booked a tee time for 530 pm , we show up early and check in to find out that the tee time had been moved to 6pm due to league play, which okay I understand but I got absolutely no heads up, no email or phone call letting me know. We didn’t tee off until about 610ish. While we were waiting at 530 we noticed no one turning at 9 and no one currently on 10 so we ask the ranger if we could just head off on the back, ranger got a instant attitude and said absolutely not. Took 1 hour and 15 minutes to play 4 holes… fast forward to the end of the round, we had one hole left and the ranger comes flying in saying we have to get off the course cause it was 9pm and the cart kids leave at 9. Come to find out the cart kids don’t leave at 9 he does. Ranger was sour all day and a super buzz kill.

I have been hearing great things about this course for years and finally came to check it out. I was very impressed! I loved the layout, greens were in excellent condition, great turf condition throughout. Only thing i was unable to judge is pace of play as it was a chilly day in April and not busy. It has one of the best practice ranges that I've ever seen, with TrackMan at every stall. Well worth the drive, I'll be back!

It has been a few years since I have played at Sugarbush and I was pleasantly surprised with all of the updates to the course and clubhouse. I would give them 10 stars if possible.
