Bang for your buck
The price is right here!! Course was in good condition. Greens ran great. Fairways were nice, but they did not bag their grass clippings. Besides that, everything was great. Highly recommend this course to anyone coming in town for a few days!
A round with co-workers
Got together for a round with co-workers. The round started out overcast and a threat of rain. By the turn, the skies cleared and made way for the sun. The course was in good shape. A couple fairways were spongey due to heavy rain fall. But overall, it was a great round with challenging holes. We had a phenomenal time.
Negative Experiences
Manager was talking down to customers making other staff and guests uncomfortable. This is a common occurrence and staff turnover is high. Insulting and trying to embarrass players in front of others is not good practice. If the course was not as nice I don't think people would even play there much.
Great Value
The course is in great condition. It was a reasonable rate. Very challenging. The best value in the GR area.
Very fair yet quite challenging.
Our groups only issue with Cedar Chase was we had a mid morning tee time we also had a foursome and we play at a sound pace, But our round was continually interrupted because we had to let a twosome play through. There was a twosome in front of us on the first tee, and we had to let 2 twosomes through us. We made the last twosome wait the last 3 holes. Cedar Chase needs to pair them up, Foursomes can’t outpace twosomes, it makes you hurry and letting them through screws everything up.
Good course. Poor customer service.
I was playing in a group of 7other guys who did not book through golfnow. So I called the course to ask if I could book through golfnow and still join the group and was assured that it would be ok to do so. However when I got to the course the manager Micheal refused my tee time and demanded that I join another single who I was paired with through golfnow. So long story short in order to play with my friends I had to cancel my tee time through golfnow and pay an additional $10 (full course rate)plus the convenience fees. In no way did this speed up play or inconvenience any other golfers. I don't know why he did it but as long as this man is employed I will definitely think twice about golfing this course again. The whole experience was frankly...well.. humiliating.
Favorite Local Course
My families favorite course, my wife and 3 year old daughter play this golf course very frequently. Our daughter has her very own routine and is treated as VIP when she enters the club house. The staff is very friendly and accommodating of us. They are the most family friendly course we've ever played, since we started bringing our daughter we have noticed many more people bringing children along. Nothing better than seeing families enjoy the game of golf together. The course is always in great shape and the crew is always working to improve their course. Michael the manager and our daughter have nicknames for each other and is always welcoming when we arrive. We cannot say enough good things about our home course and always encourage new people to check it out. We will continue to play Cedar Chase as long as they will have us.
Much Improved
I played Cedar Chase in the past but have not been there in a long time. When I stopped playing it, the course had gone downhill, the carts didn't run, and the staff was non-existent. They allowed 5 and 6 some's to play and was poorly run.
I was told that it had new owners and I played it once again. I was surprised what an overall improvement and the condition of the course was in. It is so much better and is once again back to it's former self. Highly recommend ! Greens were wonderful and the overall condition was great.
Tee wide open but had to wait until tee time. GolfNow customers treated as 2nd class
Awesome
Beautiful course, friendly staff and well kept. Played in the fall and the staff had cleaned up all tge leaves so that the ball was easy to find. The back nine was more challenging than the front with tight and straight fairways. Definitely a fun challenge
Great Value
The value on this course stands out. You get the feel of northern michigan golf just a short drive from Grand Rapids. I have played Cedar Chase several times. Another thing that stands out is the friendliness of the staff. You feel like a member or an old friend everytime you show up.
Great club
Excellent course, very challenging! Fast greens with subtle breaks really makes you concentrate!
Enjoyable course - great staff
Not only was the course and greens well kept, but I also want to give a huge thanks to the customer service given to us by Michael. If you read this Michael, you know who you are - cheers!
