Brookside Golf Course
About
Nestled in the gently rolling hills of Gowen, Brookside Golf Course has a tranquil, peaceful location that is ideal for a round of golf. The course opened in 1963 and has been locally owned and operated ever since. The golf course measures to a manageable 6,100 yards from the back tees, a seemingly short course by modern standards. Though it may not be what you're looking for if you want a truly formidable championship course but it provides a good and affordable round of practice. The front nine is slightly less demanding than the back. Overall Brookside Golf Course is gentle enough for beginners with a few strategically placed bunkers to make it challenging. There is also a meandering stream that wanders across a few of the holes.

This time….
My son and I had great weather, which set up some of the views from the tee boxes nicely. The course was in very good condition with some challenging holes in the front 9. We had a couple groups ahead of us but did not impact pace at all. We will go back again.
Will continue to get most of our local business
My wife and I have played here already six times this spring primarily because it’s the best price structure within a half hour of our house. We started playing here about four or five years ago and continue to come back with the great deals. Be fine on GolfNow. Unfortunately links of Bowen Lake does not look like they’re going to be on GolfNow this year so that kind of stinks but another course that was on GolfNow a couple years ago looks to be coming back whitefish Lake so will probably patronize that course. Also quite a bit.
I continue to review this course every time I come because there’s always work being done on it, which they get the reinvestment award for golf course courses In my opinion. They seem to be in a wood cutting mode right now trimming up and making holes more playable. It was really too tight couple few years ago, but now they’re filling in the traps, cutting trees down where they do not belong and making the aesthetics a little nicer also.
I played the booties from the tips yesterday and it adds on a little extra challenge particularly they reopened up an old tea box on whole number eight which requires a much longer shot up the hill. Of course just gives you your money’s worth. And you have to work pretty hard to drink up your bloody Mary by the time the round is over 32 ounces worth of pure pleasure pure
Fertilizer?
Everything has been good about Brookside. They are constantly working on it cutting trees down, making it more playable upgrading the sand traps. The tea boxes were really upgraded last year really almost like a whole new course and the pricing is always very good on the offer GolfNow, which brings us back over and over again. Layout is really kind of neat not a long course but has a lot of character and the wife is now breaking 100 which she loves. It’s not the easiest course in the world so I’m proud of her being a senior grandma breaking 100 here.
The only knew suggestion I would have is I know it’s very expensive but put a little fertilizer down starting on the greens and then a little fertilizer in a fairway other than that the improvements are every time come out once a week or so there’s always something that’s improved so keep up the good work.
I also would like to see if you like a bloody Mary. This is the place to get a big one for your round. It’s like 32 ounce for 10 bucks just a great tasting drink spicy.
Not the friendliest staff
don’t know how to make drinks, pace of play was super slow
Great work on the tee boxes!!
Lots of work being done with trees and traps. Nice job on tee boxes .Keep it up!
Love them bloody Mary’s
Put some fertilizer down
Always improving
Reasonable in todays greedy golf market and the best big Bloody Mary!
Good condition for early year golf.
Local course and very good condition for early in the year. Only problem was a slow foursome holding back about 5 others. But still a good day.
Continuous improvement!
Always working on improving course. Owners daughter a real peach!
Beginners galore
My family loves this course and we’ve been coming here for decades. Lots of nice memories. Today there were a lot of slow beginners, which made pace of play torture. But that’s what happens when fees are low and the layout is friendly. Still highly recommended.
Nice course
I like this course but they overbooked and weren’t pairing up twosomes it over two and a half hours to play 9 holes. We left after 9.
Nice course
I always like playing this course! It’s a great buy through GolfNow and I like The course layout.
