Dunham Hills Golf Club
About
Dunham Hills Golf Club is situated amidst rolling hills and mature trees. The course is a demanding, but fun test of your skills. The topography presents challenging elevation changes throughout the course but accurate shots will be rewarded with level lies. The undulating fairways and lightning fast greens provide a variety of different shot options that will please the skilled shot-maker. Be prepared to utilize every club in your bag. Accuracy is essential on every hole in order to avoid the unpleasant lies that lurk beneath the hardwoods and pines but the trick is to keep the ball on the fairway. The layout opens with a tree-lined par 4 that is representative of the entire golf course. This tricky hole features a single bunker placed in front of a green that is sloped left to right.

Dunham hills
This course was very nice but the play was very slow the only time you can get a tee time is in between leagues I would only recommend this course if you would like to play slow the greens are nice and fast the fairways are in excellent condition staff was very nice and helpful did not get any food or beverage
Another Great Time at Dunham Hills
Discovered this "gem" in the Hartland area a few weeks ago and vowed to return. Took 2 junior golfers this time and had a wonderful time. Staff said if we needed to slow play that they would gladly move us to open holes on the course - great service. Conditions were excellent and me and my 2 budding golfers thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. See you next time soon!
Beautiful Course, Was Crowded
This course is great. Unfortunately, when we played Sunday, we were three deep on the tee boxes for 90% of the round. The conditions were excellent however.
Thank you for taking the time to review our course! We're glad you enjoyed the conditions but we understand the issues with pace of play. Friday through Sunday are our busiest days and the volume of golfers sharply increases. We hope you come back out on a less busy day and truly enjoy the course!
All
This course was very nice and would love to come back again. The only thing I would highly complain about was the pace was extremely slow it took us over 5 hrs to play 18. And we were average 6-15 handicappers. Never seen the rangers out pushing ppl to move along.
Thank you so much for the excellent review! Pace of play Friday - Sunday is always a challenge but we will make sure to pass along this information. We're glad you enjoyed the course and we expect to see you back again!
Has always been one of my favorites, I used to play against Dunham in th MPGA back when Gus and his partners first built it.
I was always paired against Gus and as we played he would stop at just about every tree they had recently planted and prune them. Now, those trees are beautiful and full and give the course such beautiful framing and dimension, besides making wayward shots more difficult to play straight ahead. The greens on 1,3,5,&9, used to be severely sloped but are more fair now. The holes on the back nine have the order of play changed. Number 12 & 13 used to be the closing holes, but the change is good as the closing hole is closer to the clubhouse now. In my opinion, the course is one of the very best because of the variety of holes and the feeling that you're way up north at a resort course. The greens are large and very true, and the fairways don't have a bad lie on them. I never get bored playing this excellent course. I'm 76 now so #'s 3, 4,6, 8,and 14, are pretty long for me now but I get to use my fairway woods and wedges on them to save pars.
Jim - we love to hear that you are still coming to play at Dunham Hills! We hope that you continue to play and that you spread the word! We look forward to seeing you back at the course sooner than later! Thank you for the outstanding review!
Good challenging course
Course in good shape. Not crazy about each hole playing opposite the previous hole. Always having to watch out for other players that might be coming into your fairway from the next hole over. Felt a little rushed. Starter wasn't the most pleasant as was the person in the pro shop.
Thanks for the review and letting us know what we can do better at the course. We're happy to hear you enjoyed the course conditions but are concerned about the friendliness of our staff. We will make sure to pass this information along! Thanks again!
thank you
Great course. Long. Lots of elevation changes. Greens are fast, sloped and in great shape. We'd had tons of rain in the days before and you could barely tell on the course. The staff here is always very friendly, but for this round, the starter went above and beyond. I was a single with league play scheduled behind me and several foursomes in front of me. Rather than having me sit and wait for the foursomes, the starter routed me around the course out of order but still playing all the holes. I played in 2 hours 15 minutes, and by changing the order, it almost felt like a different course.
Thank you for the great review Homer! You have no idea how AMAZING it is to hear that our starter went above and beyond for you! We're glad you had such a great experience and hope to see you back soon!
Senic and well kept course
The course was in good shape from fareways to greens. I was a single but never had to wait too long. Most groups were twosomes. Most only played 9 so it was free sailing from there. Cart girl didn't get to me until I was on the 9th green and never again. Not a difficult course with fairly easy greens. Liked the extremely low GNow price and would certainly pay more but not sure it's worth their normal rate.
Thanks for the great review! We'll pass along the information about the cart girl and we apologize that it took so long. We hope to see you back out again, with improved cart service!
Greens are bumpy
The course has a lot of blind shots and the greens are very challenging. These greens have winter damage very bad and are very bumpy. Pace of play was 6 1/2 hours for 18.
We're sorry to hear that you didn't have a great experience with us on Saturday! Saturday's are our busiest day and pace of play is much slower due to the heavy volume of golfers. Some of the greens are a little bumpy and we appreciate you letting us know how you feel. Thank you!
Always great to play here
Dunham Hills is one of my favorites in Livingston County, if not my favorite. All in all the course is in great shape as always, however there are a handful of greens that do have bare spots from the winter, but they all still run true and are lightning fast. I didn't rate the pace of play because we were behind a league, and they played extremely slow, 2:50 to play 9, after they got off and we made the turn, we played the back 9 in 1:30. So I do not recommend playing behind the Tuesday night league. If you must play Tuesday night tee off before 4.
We appreciate your review, thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts! We hope to have you back, maybe not on a Tuesday afternoon! Thank you!
Well Maintained Fairways and Fast Greens
Dunham Hills is in very good shape right now (late May). The fairways are short and the greens are fast. Even with a 20 minute rain delay, the course remained in very playable condition. If you want a challenging course with lots of hills and doglegs, this is it.
Thank you for your review Dennis! We're glad you enjoyed it (even with a rain delay!)! Hope to see you soon!
beautiful day and course
the course was in great condition ,but the pace was slow.We had two couples at 900am on sunday, with a lot of golfers already on the course. The green are tough and big with lots of breaks everywhere./the fairways were good to above average.Ihave played here before and still a beauty of a course.plusesas always.
Thank you so much for taking the time to rate and review our course! Glad you keep coming back, we're looking forward to your next round!
Dunham Hills
A beautiful day. Course was in great shape. It was busy and rather slow play on the front nine but you have to expect that on a Sunday. The fairways look wide but is a mature course and will surprise you with trees and bunkers. Overall it is one of my favorite courses.
Thank you so much for the amazing review! We truly appreciate it. We hope to keep the top spot as your favorite course to play!
Dunham Hills
Dunham Hills GC is a Michigan gem. Old time course with some back and forth holes but plenty of demanding shots with greens that are extremely tough to play but fair and in excellent shape.
Wow - another excellent review! Thank you so much for reviewing our course! Come back out soon!
Humbling Course
The fairly large greens are all sloped--some very--and if you miss your putt you may end up farther away than you began.
Fairways are fairly straight, but you can feel really good at some of your tee shots due to help from some very steep hills.
Some of the nicest golf carts we have ever used.
Thank you WhiteKnight for taking the time to give us an excellent review! We appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed the carts, we're a fan too!
Challenging track with great greens
One of my favorite courses in Oakland County. The holes are straightforward (except for 10 and 15) and the greens are incredible. Sloped and fast. Bring your short game, because you'll need it.
Brent, thank you so much for the excellent review! We're happy to hear you enjoy the course so much. We look forward to seeing you again!
dunham hills gc
I really enjoyed my time on the course. the golf was great, the staff fantastic. and the course was beautiful.
I would love to come again some time.
Thank you so much for the fantastic review!! We really appreciate you taking the time to review our course and we hope you do come back to see us!
Want to REVENGE
Nice course, however played in really strong winds. I want to revenge under nice weather.
We look forward to having you back at the course! Thank you for your review!
Nice Course
Great condition even season just started. No temporary greens and no wet ground. good deal with the price.
And you came back! We hope you keep coming back all season long! Thanks again for the reviews!
theisen
A challenge. Hit it straight and stay below the hole. Fair and tough. The front often does not give the well placed drive a fair slope, but the back 9 does. The greens are humbling but not tricked out.
Pam - thank you so much for the excellent review! We're always happy to hear when our staff goes above and beyond! We can't wait to see you and your budding golfers back at Dunham Hills!
