Dunham Hills Golf Club
About
Dunham Hills Golf Club is situated amidst rolling hills and mature trees. The course is a demanding, but fun test of your skills. The topography presents challenging elevation changes throughout the course but accurate shots will be rewarded with level lies. The undulating fairways and lightning fast greens provide a variety of different shot options that will please the skilled shot-maker. Be prepared to utilize every club in your bag. Accuracy is essential on every hole in order to avoid the unpleasant lies that lurk beneath the hardwoods and pines but the trick is to keep the ball on the fairway. The layout opens with a tree-lined par 4 that is representative of the entire golf course. This tricky hole features a single bunker placed in front of a green that is sloped left to right.

Better than last time
Last time I had a chance to play here, the pace of play was awful. Just a busy weekend, so I was not too upset. This time, I flew around. The starter sent me off the back first, which opened up the front when I came around. Excellent, challenging course. Greens roll very nice and true. Stay below the hole.
Meticulously maintained.
It is a pleasure to golf here. Meticulously kept course. Rolling hills. Beautiful scenery. A gem!!!
challenging course
Tight fairways lined with mature trees. Rolling hills through longer than average distances. No questions asked on hot deal, almost 80% off! Strict dress code(no jeans). Very professional looking and feeling.
Fun Course/Beautiful condition
Played for the first time in the rain and still had a great time. Everything was super green and well kept. The greens were in the best condition of anywhere else in the area. Great course!
This course is worth the drive.
Grass is really well managed for golf courses.
a lo of elevation is challenging to golfers but the total of scenic view are great to play and enjoy golf.
there are no even spot for stands. it makes golfers tough to hit ball straight. but it is worth to get challenged. par 3 230 yards and 200 yards are also the enjoyable course for long hit golfer.Green is well controlled so that ball speed and lie has to be accurate due to fast ball rolling.
A great value
If you like old mature tree lined fairways, this course is for you. Plenary of elevation changes, and swirling winds always keep you on your toes. Well maintained with some of the best greens around. Even with the brutal winter we had just experienced.
Worth the money
Courses are in good condition. I like the layout and the challenge this course provides. Only concern is the green.
Some of the green had no grass. This may be due to the severe winter and snow we had but makes it difficult to predict the speed.
One of Oakland County's Best!
Will be booking times at Dunham all summer. This is my home course and will recommend often. Aaaaaaaasaaaaaa
This course can be played in any weather condition! It is in perfect shape.
In the pouring rain I drove down a beautiful country road and soon I arrived at the clubhouse. The parking lot empty, save for one car, I thought perhaps I would cancel my tee time... that is until I saw (surrounded by a gorgeous resort) a 20 foot statue of a lady golfer posed in a perfect back swing. I knew, neither rain nor snow would keep me from teeing off! If she can stand there in any weather, I can play with rain running down my back!
I began the round, with rain obscuring my vision, on the Champion tees which I knew would extend my length of play, but I was the only golfer crazy enough to play in the constant downpour. I was amazed that at the end of the season the fairways were manicured and cleaned of all leaves and the greens were fast with no standing water and as if they were rolled just prior to my arrival.
On the 4th hole, I saw another golfer behind me and asked if he would care to join. As a regular on this course, he was invaluable. The fairways, the hazards, the greens each were discussed and my score immediately dropped. This challenging course, with each hole completely different from the next was a constant surprise of glee!, The rain did not let up and surprisingly did not pool anywhere.
I can't wait until I can play this course again, but on a sunny day!
Tricky lies, fast greens
This track has a nice rolling layout, which causes some tricky lies. Fast, challenging greens were head scratching but a lot of fun. This course will definitely be thrown into the yearly rotation. A must play!
Great track Excellent condition
This course is one of my favorites. The track is tremendous, the condition is great and the people are friendly. When I played it the leaves had not been cleared. That is my only complaint.
Great course, amazing value
The course is fantastic, very challenging, and very well-kept, and you can't beat the value for the money. The greens are the best i've ever seen on a public course. Only one "circus" hole (from the championship tees anyways) Par 4 #14...cant do anything but lay up with anywhere from a 3 iron to 5 iron and then have 210+ yard approach into a green with a false front. Otherwise I love the traditional layout of the course...great fairways and greens, lined by large hardwood trees, and dramatic elevation changes.
Great Course.
Only critic: Slow play. The issue is not overbooking for the most part, all in all the tee times are staggered well (every 8 mins) which should be perfect as a hole should take a max of 15 mins to complete. However I believe the big problem is the type of novice golfers that saturate the course on a daily basis and lack of a Ranger to speed up play.
Stay below pins on undulating greens
As always one of my favorite courses in SE Michigan. Terrific greens with speed and slope provide a challenge for even the most experience golfer. My buddy had trouble with the speed and getting the ball in the wrong place on the greens. Above the hole and 3 putts become the norm and the score looks much worse than what you thought you should have had.
Great challenging course
Dunham has really stepped up to be one of the better courses in the area. Great condition. A must play
challenging course in great condition
Much more difficult than your ordinary courses...narrow tree lined fairways, lots of bends and curves with sand and water strategically placed, quick maintained greens...will definitely be going back much more
Pristine conditions
The course is extremely challenging and gives one the impression of a links course in that there are challenging lies from many angles throughout the course
Great course off the beaten path!
This golf course is really well maintained. The layout is fair. However, two holes were not designed well. Other than that this course is really scenic and a breath of fresh air compared to other newer courses. I was taken back that their were no carts with GPS.
added it to our list of favorites
Was pleasently suprised, The greens rolled very true.
Beautiful rolling course, near-perfect greens, and exceptionally well-maintained.
Thoroughly enjoyed my first experience here. Didn't score great, but really liked the layout and the way the course has been manicured. Definitely a course for those who hit a straight ball. Greens are true and the ball rolls well, but quick. Well worth the cost . A hidden gem in SE Michigan.
the 12th and 18th greens are the worst in michigan....snow mold hit them bad the rest are very nice
